Wayne Lee Houston

Wayne Lee Houston was born on June 29, 1945, in Brevard, North Carolina, to George and Iva Houston. He passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, at the age of 80. Wayne was a man full of life, known for his energy, infectious laughter, and larger-than-life personality. His enthusiasm and warmth drew people in, and he never met a stranger. He had a remarkable ability to connect with others, always making them feel like family. Whether you were a close friend or someone he just met, Wayne had a way of leaving an impression. As a Senior Construction Manager, Wayne played an instrumental role in the construction of hundreds of custom homes in Northern Virginia. He was the type of person who never missed a day of work and always gave it his all. Even after retirement, he couldn’t resist taking on new home projects and side quests, always keeping himself busy with something hands-on. Beyond his career, Wayne embraced life with passion. He had a true talent for cooking, especially when it came to making a perfect breakfast or grilling out. He had a competitive spirit that showed in everything from regular trips to the pool hall for a game of billiards or bowling, to his love for games like checkers and backgammon at home. In the later years of his life, Wayne found a new joy in Pokémon Go, forging meaningful friendships while having fun catching Pokémon. For over 15 years, Wayne shared a loving relationship with his wife, Meagan. Their connection was deep, and their commitment to each other was evident in everything they did. Together, Wayne and Meagan embraced the simple but fulfilling joys of life. Much of that joy came from the companionship of their loyal dog, Shadow, and later, their new dog, Stormy. Wayne will be remembered by many for his unmistakable look—his full head of hair, glasses, blue jeans, and a Marlboro Red in hand. He had a presence that commanded attention the moment he entered a room, yet his easygoing nature made him instantly approachable to anyone. From strangers to lifelong friends, Wayne had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued. Wayne is lovingly remembered by his wife, Meagan Houston, his sons Wayne Houston Jr. (wife Shannan), Dylan Houston (wife Crystal), Jason Houston (deceased), and Cody Houston; his daughters Rachael Earnest (husband Stephen) and Lori Anne Titus (deceased); as well as his cherished grandchildren Ricky Titus (36), Krista Titus (35), Regan Fricke (30), Macy Ciaburri (25), Micah Houston (25), Dylan Houston Jr. (11), Claire Houston (7), Nolan Earnest (3), and Nathaniel Earnest (3). He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Anthony Titus (16), Noah Titus (13), Riley Titus (6), Isla May Fricke (1), and Iris Rain Houston (1).
