Wade Corbin

WADE EMERSON CORBIN, age 71 of Manassas, VA lost his courageous battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord, his Savior, December 8th, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his family. Born October 21, 1941, in Rock Mills, VA, he was the son of the late Orie and Grace Whorton Corbin. On July 4th, 1964, in Manassas, he married his high school sweetheart Joyce Rector, who survives. Wade retired from the Fairfax County Water Authority, in 1995, after 28 years of service. Wade and Joyce loved to travel and after retirement, they drove across the country to fulfill their "bucket list" goal of being in all 50 states. Wade was a faithful member and attendee of the Manassas Assembly of God, in Bristow, VA, where in previous years he sang in the choir, worked in the Sunday school resource center, and his most favorite job, rocking babies in their nursery. Wade and Joyce both served as camp grandparents for the Assemblies of God, Potomac District Kids Camp, for over 10 years. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lucinda Corbin Curren and two sisters, Virginia Corbin Cain and Lilly Corbin. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Joyce Rector Corbin of Manassas, his two sons, Peter Corbin and fiancé Penny Ritch of Potomac Falls, VA and Daniel Corbin and wife Loretta and granddaughter Madison of Front Royal, VA, his two sisters, Bess Corbin of Manassas and Dolly Corbin Thorpe and husband Steve of Marshall, VA , his five brothers, Garfield and wife Jacquelyn of Rixeyville, VA, Orea and wife Peggy of Stanley, VA, Edward and wife Judy, Rolly and wife Barbara, and Marion and wife Jacqueline all of Manassas, VA and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center St., Manassas, VA 20110. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Manassas Assembly of God, 11500 New Life Way, Bristow, VA 20136. Interment will follow at Manassas City Cemetery, Manassas.
