Mr. Steve Stathis

Stephen “Steve” Stathis May 23, 1958 – August 28, 2026 Steve Stathis, of Gainesville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, at the age of 68, surrounded by family. Steve was predeceased by his loving parents, George A. Stathis and Yvonne Stathis, and his beloved sister, Barbara Stratakis. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Stathis; his sons, Steve A. Stathis and Ian M. Stathis; his grandson, Ian N. Stathis; his stepson, Christopher Guest; his step-granddaughter, Margot Guest; his sisters, Cathy Fox (Joshua) and Toni Fightmaster (Kevin)Uncle Nick Grivas;; his aunts, Maria Vasilakos and Olga Stathis and and many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and dear friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Steve was born in California and moved to New York at a very young age, where he grew up surrounded by his beloved family and deep Greek family roots. In his teenage years, he moved to Northern Virginia, where he graduated from Chantilly High School in 1976. He proudly served for many years in the United States Air Force before beginning a long and successful career as a construction contractor. Steve lived life with a great sense of humor and a genuine zest for living. He enjoyed many hobbies and interests, but above all, he treasured time spent with his family and the people he loved. He had a gift for making connections and building lasting friendships, and his kindness, humor, and generous spirit touched many lives throughout his community. His faith was also an important part of his life. Steve found great meaning in his church and especially cherished the Bible study group he helped build, where he formed deep and meaningful bonds with others through faith, fellowship, and friendship. Steve was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend. He will be remembered for his quick wit, his warm heart, his loyalty to family, and the many memories he created with those around him. Steve leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, faith, family, friendship, and countless memories that will be cherished for generations to come. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May his memory be eternal. Celebration of Life September 19, 2026 Noon to 7:00 PM The Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Steve and Elizabeth Stathis, 8267 Roxborough Loop, Gainesville, VA 20155.
