Stephen Wayne Fadely

Stephen Wayne Fadely (Steve) was born on January 6, 1949. He departed this life while at home on April 24, 2024. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Dorothy and John Fadely; and his longtime companion, Irene Wilberger. Steve is survived by his children, Kristin Michele, Suzanne Marie, and Stephen John; his grandson, Anderson Stephen; his former wife, Kathy; his brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Terri Fadely and family; his sister, Pam Burnett and family; and Irene’s extended family. Steve was a native of Northern Virginia, an alumnus of Marshall High School in Falls Church. Following his education, Steve pursued entrepreneurship and found success as a painter. He was a Civil War antiques collector and found great joy in living in Manassas, where he embraced the history of the area. He was an active member of the Northern Virginia Mustang Club. In his younger years, Steve found joy in riding and working on motorcycles. As he grew older, he enjoyed working on and drag racing his mustangs. He liked listening to classic rock and roll music and talk radio. He had a big heart for all dogs and delighted in their companionship. Steve had a legendary appetite for all-you-can-eat shrimp from Red Lobster, a tradition he cherished with family and friends. Politics held significant importance to Steve, as he preached the value of voting to his family and friends. He was known for expressing his opinions passionately and humorously, often believing he was always right. Steve had several common sayings that brought laughter to those around him, including "If you were smart…," "Word on the street is…," and "You heard it here first!” A viewing to honor Steve's life will be held at 10:00am on May 6, 2024 at the Pierce Funeral Home in Manassas. Immediately following, will be his memorial service at 11:00am also at the Pierce Funeral Home. His funeral service will take place at 11:00am on May 7, 2024, at the National Memorial Cemetery, in Falls Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in his name to St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital, a charity that Steve held dear and supported throughout his life. Steve will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Rest in peace, Steve.
