Sharon Elaine Stanley

Sharon Elaine Stanley, age 77, of Manassas, Virginia, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026. She was born on February 19, 1948, in Bristol, Virginia, and was raised in Fairfax, Virginia, where she met the love of her life, George Russell Stanley. The two were married on June 30, 1965, and together shared 57 years of marriage and raised two beloved daughters, Deborah and Angela. Sharon was employed for many years as a CUE Bus Driver for the City of Fairfax. She had a deep love for animals, especially her rabbits and cats, and could often be found feeding the deer that visited her backyard. Sharon also had a fondness for sweet treats, particularly a Cherry Coke or a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family, especially during their vacations to the Outer Banks, where she loved searching for seashells and creating memories. Sharon was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 57 years, George Russell Stanley; her mother, Emma Shelton; and her siblings, Chucky Lewis, Jim Lewis, and Sharon Eaton. She is survived by her sister, Jan Eaton; brother Rocky Necessary; her daughters, Deborah Longerbeam and husband Jerry, and Angela Cook and husband David; her grandchildren, Tiffany (Roy), Kelsey (Jimmy), Naomi (Josh), MaKayla, and Catherine; and her great-grandchildren, Kaydance, Brayden, Kinsley, Brianna, Emmy, Rhett, and Adalynn. Pallbearers will be Roy Wren, Jimmy Wetsel, Josh Jenkins, Brayden Wren, Ricky Cook, and Mike Kirch. A viewing will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, Virginia 20110. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 8, 2026, also at Pierce Funeral Home. Burial will take place at 1:00 PM at Fairfax Memorial Park, 9900 Braddock Road, Fairfax, Virginia 22032. Following the burial service, the family will host a reception at Yorkshire Freewill Baptist Church, 7620 Chestnut Street, Manassas, Virginia 20111. Family and friends are welcome to gather and share memories in honor of Sharon. Sharon was a beloved daughter, wife, sister, mother, granny, great-granny, and friend. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
