Samuel Edmonds Jr.

Samuel Edmonds, Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and faithful servant of God, passed to the Lord and departed to heavenly glory. Samuel is the beloved husband of Vivian Edmonds. He is the loving father of Patrick Edmonds; Danielle Bowles and her husband, Charles Bowles IV; Sonsierra Ferguson and her husband, Gerald Ferguson; and the late Jennifer Edmonds. He was a proud and deeply devoted grandfather to Charles “Charlie” Bowles V, Caroline Bowles, Libby Bowles, Clayton Edmonds, Neiel Edmonds, Jewel Hunter, Traig Hunter (deceased), Abraham Hunter, Trevyn Hunter, Adam Hunter, Raihn Hunter, and Solomon Coates, and great-grandfather to Nasai Isaac and Tru Donaldson. Samuel is also the brother of Esther Greenleaf, Sophie Edmonds, Larry “Ed” Edmonds, and the late Gary Edmonds, and is lovingly remembered by their families. He is the son-in-law of Berlant Sidrak and brother-in-law of Hany Sidrak, and their families, all of whom cherish his memory and mourn his loss. A man of deep faith, Samuel was a devoted member of St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church of Washington, DC, in Fairfax, Virginia. His life of quiet strength, steady presence, and faith-filled perseverance reflected the words of Scripture he loved: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7). Samuel dedicated his professional life to service and protection. He retired from the United States Secret Service, where he spent the majority of his career in the prestigious Presidential Protective Division. After his federal service, he continued his commitment to public safety by serving with the Prince William County Sheriff’s Office, from which he also retired. Throughout his career, he was known for his integrity, discipline, and unwavering sense of duty.
