Nicholas Edward Parsons

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our son Nicholas Edward Parsons. He was a sophomore at Battlefield High School. Our son Nic was first and foremost a loving son, a wonderful brother, cool cousin, caring grandson, “Sticky Nicky” to his aunts and uncles. He was hard working, dependable, loyal, trusting, and a man of his word. Those entire attributes made Nic a loyal and valued friend. Nic loved his mom Crystal with all his heart. She was his rock, protector, advocate, and mother lioness. Nic loved his brothers, Zachary, Reiley and Cody completely, not to mention his dogs Tobi &Valentine. The bonds of Brotherhood are ones forged in the heart that grow with age. This I know based on my brothers Mike, Joe and Jimmy (RIP) who Nicholas admired and loved. Please walk beside him in heaven Slimbo, he is with you now. His Aunt Becky, Aunt Sue, and Aunt Wilma watched Nicky’s love for them grow as he grew into the fine young man he became. We all had kids before and after Nicky. Nicky was blessed with “his own family “of cousins: Jessie, Jeff, Kayla, Curtis, Joseph, Holly, Kimmie (his fav), Madison, Matthew and Justin. The Parsons’ Thing was created and the pack was formed. Over the years the bonds grew and we all became known as the Parsons’ Gang and Nic was a center of it for us all. He was the second of four sons and as a child he always looked out for brothers; he continued to do so as they all grew; and now he will be looking down on us all from Heaven. Nic was a wonderful grandson; had special relationship with each one of his grandparents; Grandma Thornton, Grandpa Bergman, gMA Judy, gPA Paul and Ed and Helen Ceppa. He loved them all. Nic was a freshman football player and Sophomore Shot Putter for this spring track team at Battlefield High School. He was a 1st class boy scout, scholar student and an avid swimmer. He completed level 3 lifeguard training in the waters of Ocean City Maryland where he spent each summer for the last ten years, He rode quads on the RT 15 property, shot hoops in the driveway and launched himself off the jump rock into the pool and made massive tidal waves and splashes. He cruised around in his red Ford Ranger with his brothers. Nic searched and found Christ in his 16th year and was baptized a Christian at Park Valley Church last year. He loved going to Vertical youth ministry and developing his own personal relationship with Christ. We are thankful he did and is now looking down on the Parsons Family with his uncle Jimmy, protecting us. We fell you both everyday in our heart and in our souls. It would be remiss if we did not mention Nic had a huge compassionate heart and loved anyone who let him; it was for me his most endearing attribute. He was always welcoming and his kindness and friendly was always approachable. He would help out with whatever was needed. He would give you whatever he had is you just asked. We know the world would be a better place if more people are like Nicholas. In conclusion please remember these words. Nicholas, my son we love you, our hearts will always have a void, but every day it will be refilled with the love from the memories of life together. We will ask each of you not to mourn for Nic, but celebrate each day that he was in your life and everyday from this day forward that as he will always be in the heart of those who loved him. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8pm Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Park Valley Church, 4500 Waverly Farm Drive, Haymarket, VA where funeral services will be held at 12:00PM Thursday, June 18, 2015. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens.
