Matthew Ellis Jackson

Matthew Ellis Jackson, 40, of Nokesville, VA, passed away suddenly on September 26, 2025. Born in Flushing, NY, on April 3, 1985, Matthew was the beloved youngest son of James and Brenda Jackson. From an early age, Matthew’s joyful spirit and heartwarming smile brightened every room. He grew up in Uniondale, NY, where he thrived as a Cub Scout, martial artist, and member of the marching band, later serving as drum major his senior year at Uniondale High School. He went on to earn an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice from Nassau Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in 2008. While at VCU, he became a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., embracing its mission of achievement in every field of human endeavor. He later earned an MBA from Strayer University. In 2006, shortly after joining Kappa Alpha Psi, Matthew met the love of his life, Kristin Jackson, at a step show. They married on August 21, 2010, and together built a beautiful family, raising two sons, Ethan and Carter. A devoted husband and father, Matthew, found his greatest joy in family life, from cheering at his sons’ games to creating a warm home full of laughter and love. Professionally, Matthew worked in education, private industry, and government contracting, and most recently served as an Instructional Designer with the federal government, where he was proud to contribute to the mission of protecting the United States. Matthew will be remembered for his infectious laugh, sharp wit, culinary talents, and love of building and creating. Whether working on a 3D printing project, cooking a meal, or cracking jokes, he brought joy to all around him. He leaves to mourn his wife of 15 years, Kristin Jackson; their sons, Ethan and Carter; his parents, James and Brenda Jackson; his sister, Jennifer Jackson, her wife, Shanika Whitehurst, and their son, Teddy; his in-laws, Benjamin and Angela Jackson; his sister-in-law, Whitney McShane; his aunts, Sandra Pittman and Laura Jackson; and a host of cousins, extended family, fraternity brothers, and dear friends. Matt’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Family and friends will gather for a Visitation on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 10:00-11:30 AM, with Funeral Services at 11:30 AM at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center St., Manassas, VA 20110. Burial will be held at Little Georgetown Cemetery, 5370 Trapp Branch Rd Broad Run, VA 20137.
