In Loving Memory of Luis Angel Matos (June 15, 1942 - August 14, 2023) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Luis Angel Matos, a beloved husband, father, and entrepreneur. Luis peacefully departed this world on August 14, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and unwavering strength. He was 81 years old. Luis was born on June 15, 1942, in Cabimas, Venezuela, to proud parents Luis Angel Matos Sr. and Luisa Angelica Tovar. He grew up in the embrace of a loving family and with many responsibilities given him at an early age, which would lay the foundation for the remarkable life he would lead. On the 17th of October 1964, Luis Angel Matos exchanged vows with the love of his life, Gladys Nava. Their union was a testament to the enduring power of love, as they walked hand in hand through life's joys and challenges for 59 beautiful years. Luis and Gladys were blessed with three wonderful sons, Luis Eduardo (Eddy), Raul Eduardo (Lito) and Daniel Esteban Matos (Danny). As a father, Luis embraced his role with unwavering devotion, instilling in his children the values of integrity, hard work, and compassion. He was a pillar of strength and a constant source of guidance, shaping his sons into the remarkable individuals they are today. Professionally, Luis Angel Matos was a true visionary. With a spirit of entrepreneurship and an unyielding work ethic, he established his own business, which thrived under his leadership for over 30 years. His dedication and commitment were evident in every aspect of his work, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Luis and Gladys found the Resotred Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1974 and became members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in that same years. They were sealed as a family in the Washington DC Temple on May 20, 1978. Luis was a man of prayer and was never shy to share his testimony of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He had a warm smile, a unique sense of humor and a passion for cars, planes, baseball and Venezuelan news. Luis Angel Matos leaves behind a legacy of love, unity, and resilience. While he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will forever live on in the cherished memories of his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Gladys Matos, his devoted sons, Eddy, Raul, and Danny, and nine of his grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many relaitves and friends who were blessed to know him. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Luis Angel Matos will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 10:30am for a viewing, with the service itself starting at 11am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel located at 6219 Villa St., Alexandria Va. 22310.
