Louis Derrill DeRamus Jr.

Louis Derrill DeRamus, Jr. was born on July 4, 1942 in Albany, Georgia to Marcelle G. DeRamus and Louis D. DeRamus, Senior, but grew up in Alabama. He was fondly known as Derrill. Derrill grew into a man defined by his integrity, generosity, and unwavering desire to do right by others. Sadly, our beloved Derrill left us April 2, 2026. Derrill shares a remarkable love story with his beloved wife, Patricia. They were married on August 8, 1982. They remained happily devoted to one another for 43 years. Together they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and a deep appreciation for time spent side-by-side. Derrill was a devoted father to Louis D. DeRamus, III (Tripp) and his wife Brenda; and Jay DeRamus and his wife Tracy. Derrill was especially devoted and a loving grandfather to his three grandchildren Louis D. DeRamus, IV (Drew), Brianne DeRamus Kengle, and Jayme Marcelle DeRamus. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Louis D. DeRamus, V (Louie) and Oliver DeRamus (Ollie). Derrill was a skilled and dedicated man. Following high school, Derrill enlisted in the Marines. After his military service, Derrill returned to Manassas, VA where he became a Volunteer Fire Fighter at the Manassas Volunteer Fire Company for many years. Derrill's full-time job was a Manager for Merchant Tire in Manassas, VA for many years. Derrill formed many lasting friendships. An opportunity became available when offered a General Manager position in Lake Park, Florida with Tire Kingdom where he worked until retirement in 2019. Derrill was an Arbitrator for the Office of the Attorney General in Florida for five (5) years. Derrill was very committed to his community and joined Manasseh Lodge No. 82 where he was a life member in Manassas, Virginia. Derrill was deeply committed to his family and friends. He shared a special bond with family and neighbors, forming a close-knit community built on care, mutual support, and respect. Derrill also had a profound passion for the Wellington International Horseshow on Saturday from January to April. Derrill was a lifelong animal lover and especially loved cats. He also liked to cook. He generously shared his love of food with family, friends, and neighbors, bringing people together through meals, laughter, and tradition. Derrill will be remembered for his strength, generosity, kindness, attention to detail, and his love of family. In lieu of flowers and because of Derrill’s love for animals, donations may be made to McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary, 12943 61st St. North, West Palm Beach, FL 33421 or Big Dog Ranch Rescue, 14444 Okeechobee Blvd., Loxahatchee Groves, FL 33470 in Derrill’s memory. Both are nonprofit organizations. Following the interment, the family would like to invite everyone to join them at the Manassas Volunteer Fire Company, 9322 Centreville Road, Manassas, VA.
