Lois Ann Therese Greco

Lois Ann Therese Greco, of Manassas, Virginia, passed peacefully into the presence of her Savior on August 4, 2026, surrounded by the sounds of worship and beloved hymns. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and all whose lives she touched. Born on July 27, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Mildred Gavin, Lois possessed a heart that naturally cared for others. Whether it was a child, a friend, a neighbor, or an injured animal, she simply couldn't help but love. She saw beauty in God's creation and had a remarkable gift for making the world around her more beautiful—from the vibrant gardens she lovingly tended to the warm smile she freely shared with everyone she met. It was in Cleveland that she met a young Coast Guardsman named Joe Greco. She often said she fell in love with him immediately because of his handsome face and unforgettable smile. They were married on October 4, 1958, and spent 67 wonderful years building a life rooted in faith, family, and love. Lois was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and adoring great-grandmother. She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Greco, Jr. She is survived by her sons, John (Annette) of Haymarket and Jim (Penny) of Longboat Key, FL and Kittery, ME; her granddaughter, Cecelia Michel (James) of Culpeper; and her four beloved great-grandchildren, Warren, Adeline, Scarlett, and Arthur. Also surviving are her step granddaughter Amanda Garand (Peter) of Carey, NC; and step great grandchildren Alexander and Andrea of Carey, NC. She also leaves behind her treasured nieces, Linda Peters (Jim) of Columbus, Ohio, and Ginger Smith (Jeff) of Gilbert, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her beloved niece, Gale Miller (Mark) of Rocky River, Ohio. Family was the joy of Lois's life. One of her favorite memories was serving as the flower girl in her granddaughter's wedding - a role she embraced with childlike delight, bringing laughter, smiles, and a memory her family will treasure forever. Nothing brought Lois more joy than children. She faithfully served in the hospital nursery daycare, lovingly cared for her granddaughter each week while she was growing up, and later delighted in every moment she spent with her great-grandchildren. If children were involved, Lois was always ready for the adventure. Her compassion extended to every living creature. She adored her cats, Mr. Mew IV (and all of his predecessers) and Lucky, and once lovingly nursed orphaned baby skunks after their mother was killed. She found joy in simple pleasures—breakfasts with friends, birdwatching, shopping trips, tending her flowers, and meeting every new farm animal her granddaughter brought home. Passionate, opinionated, and wonderfully spirited, Lois loved deeply and served faithfully through Aggie's Angels at All Saints Catholic Church. Near the end of her life, when asked what her greatest accomplishment had been, she answered without hesitation, "I raised two incredible boys." When asked who she was most excited to see in Heaven, Lois immediately answered, "God." She also looked forward to being reunited with her beloved brother and best friend, Chuck, whom she had dearly missed for nearly fifty years. Lois leaves behind more than cherished memories; she leaves an example. May we honor her by loving generously, caring for God's creation, delighting in children, offering a warm smile, and making the world around us a little more beautiful. Mass of Christian Burial for Lois Greco will be held at All Saints Catholic Church on Thursday, August 13,2026 at 10 am/. Visitation will be at Pierce Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 12,2026 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Quantico National Cemetery on Thursday, August 13,2026 at 1:30 pm
