Kalwant Kaur Chahil

Kalwant Kaur Chahil, affectionately known as Bibi, completed her earthside journey on December 28th, 2024. She was the wife of Late Gurbachan Singh Chahil; beloved mother of Gurpreet Kaur, Kawaljit Singh, and Late Baljit Singh; loving grandmother of Keerat, Amandeep, Mandeep, and Sandeep Kaur; cherished great grandmother of Gurshaan Singh, Mansuhava, and Simran Kaur; as well as the eldest sister of Alwant Singh and Late Satwant and Surinder Kaur. Despite facing many hardships throughout the course of her life, Bibi always showed unwavering faith in Waheguru and was a selfless woman of immense patience, strength, and resilience. She lived a simple life and found great joy in taking care of her loved ones, spending time with friends, cooking family recipes, knitting, gardening, and listening to Gurbani. An ideal day for Bibi would begin with prayer, involve a home cooked meal, include the company of her family, and end with gratitude towards Maharaj. Until the very end of her journey, Bibi maintained her mental acuity and independence. She was never one to rely on others for her care and took great pride in doing her daily tasks of living on her own. Her quick wit and humor shined even in her nineties, and all who met her were amazed by her young mind and exceptional memory. Bibi served as the roots of our family – an integral and vital part of our everyday lives. It is with immense grief that we part with her wealth of knowledge, stories, home remedies, laughter, and pure unconditional love. To have had her presence in our lives for as long as we did is an undeniable blessing, one that we wish we would never have to go without. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to those in need in Bibi’s memory and take the time to cherish your elders while you still have the opportunity. We hope to continue her legacy by carrying on her teachings, and striving to live simpler lives focused on cherishing our blessings. Our family is forever indebted to the love and nurturement that Bibi poured into each and every one of us – allowing us to be in the place we are today.
