James Roger Jones

James (Jimmie) Roger Jones, 73, of Manassas, VA, passed from this life to his heavenly home on January 11, 2018. He was born on November 7, 1944 to parents, Reverend Estel and Dolly B. Jones of Tazewell County, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his daughter Bobbi Jones-Baker, parents Reverend Estel and Dolly B. Jones, two brothers, three sisters and Man’s Best Friend Whiskers P. Jones. Jimmie was employed as a Master Tradesman with Dell Perry Inc. of Vienna, Virginia. He truly loved the outdoors and traveling to spend time with family and friends. Jimmie loved football (Washington Redskins), Baseball (Washington Nationals) and fast cars (Ford Man). He is survived by his wife and best friend of 54 years, Norene Jones, loving children Roger Jones of Crosby, TN; Pam Vaughn and Billy Sigmon of Stafford, VA; Kevin and Julie Jones of Dallas, TX; Jennifer and John Massel of Dallas, TX; Kim and Frank Baker of Masury, OH and Wendy and Jay Royalty of Sellersburg, IN. Eighteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren to cherish his memory, who fondly remember his by “Double J”. Bryan Vaughn, Jonathan Vaughn, Trisha Collins, Kyle Uda, Kenzie Uda (Tyler Thompson), Nickolas Jones (Caitlin Clark), Jarred Jones (Cristina Jones), Gordon Collins (Mikaela Robinson), Kerri and Jeff Byerly, Richard Henson, Jessie Henson, Kelly and Morgan Law, Brandon Sigmon, Gigi Vaughn, Faith Uda, Jack Jones, Ande Law, Jude Byerly, Xander Vaughn and Aubrey Vaughn. Also survived by a brother-in-law Eddie Greer of Manassas, VA, Nieces Kimberly Thames-Hancock of Nokesville, VA and Marie Greer of Manassas, VA; Nephews Gordon and Brenda Meade of Biloxi, MS and David and Patsy Meade of Milton, FL; Cousins Kenny and Judy Jones of Lynden, VA; Everett and Linda Dunn of Cosby, TN and Mamie Hance of Newport, TN. No life is ever complete without those special friends who’ve endured and enriched one’s life along the way-Frank and Nancy McFall, Lisa and Preston Phipps, Vickie and Ray Spears, Bill and Tina McFall and Zeta and Michael Presley. His devotion as a husband, father and grandfather was undeniable-his love was his bond. His greatest passion was his commitment and dedication to Jesus, Our Lord and Savior. Though at times during his live facing challenges, he endured because of his strong faith in The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost. Psalm 31:1-5 “In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed; deliver me in thy righteousness. Bow Down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily; be thou my strong rock, for an house of defense to save me. For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me. Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me; for thou art my strength. Into thine hand I commit my spirit; thou hast redeemed me. O Lord God of Truth.” The family will receive friends at Pierce Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 5-8 PM where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 12:00 PM. Interment Stonewall Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SPCA of Virginia and Missions US & Canada.
