Jabari Hanif Hinton-Lee

Jabari Hanif Hinton-Lee, 40, of Centreville, VA, passed away unexpectedly on January 20, 2026. He was born May 29, 1985, in Fairfax, Virginia, the son of Larry Lee and the late Ayanna Kai Camara “Rosie Pearl” Hinton-Lee. Jabari was a 2003 graduate of Osbourn Park High School and later earned his Bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University. Jabari and his family were members of First AME Church of Manassas in his younger years. It is where he and his brother sang in the choir, and unbeknownst to Jabari, he would have his first early interactions with his future wife, Brittney Lee. Jabari lived in Norfolk, Virginia, for several years while earning his degree at Old Dominion University. This was a joyful time filled with making memories and building long-lasting friendships. Jabari took great pride in his work with Aerotek and valued the friendships he built with his coworkers. He had a deep love for sports and was a devoted fan of Duke basketball and the Dallas Cowboys. Music was a big part of his life, especially the songs of Chris Brown. More than anything, Jabari cherished time with his family — dancing and playfully wrestling with his son, Cameron, and holding his baby daughter, Sienna, as often as he could. Though his time with her was short, his love for her was immeasurable. Jabari and Brittney’s love story began in 2004 and was made official in 2013. Their years together were a testament to friendship and love; they spent their time surrounded by loved ones, and their greatest legacy remains their two beautiful children. Jabari shared a deep bond with his father, Larry, whose love and guidance he cherished every day. Throughout his journey, he carried a quiet, enduring love for his late mother and brother, missing them daily. He has now found peace, joining his departed family members in eternal rest, leaving those who loved him with memories of his tender heart and fierce loyalty. Jabari was a loving husband, father, son, brother, cousin, and friend. We will all miss him and look forward to the day when we get to see him again. Until then, we are happy he is in a better place, catching up with old friends and family. We find comfort knowing he is resting in God’s presence, whole and free, watching over those he loved so dearly. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ayanna Kai Camara “Rosie Pearl” Hinton Lee, and Azwad “Oz” Hinton-Lee. He leaves behind his loving wife of 12 years, Brittney Lee, and two children, Cameron and Sienna Lee, as well as his father, Larry Lee, and brother, Larry Lee Jr (Amy). He has four cousins, who were raised as his siblings: AnnKeila Moore of Rock Hill, SC, and Jason Moore (Jakita) of Columbia, SC, Adam Hinton-Moore of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Matthew Moore of Chester, SC. He was close to his loving aunts Naomi Moore of Chester, SC, Mary Hinton of Landover, MD, Idella Cooper (Ronald), and Marie “TD” (Donovan) Lawrence of Savannah, GA. He was deeply loved by Karen Huff (mother-in-law), Stevie Burke (father-in-law), and Edith Lewis (grandmother-in-law), as well as a host of close aunts, uncles, cousins, coworkers, family, and friends. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
