Gordon Lee O'Neil

Obituary Gordon Lee O’Neil Born, January 22, 1955 to William and Jean O’Neil in Redlands California. He passed away in the early morning hours of January 20, 2026 just a few days before his 71st birthday. He died peacefully in his sleep at the University of Virginia Hospital in Manassas, Virginia. He had family members and friends visiting with him at his home and at the hospital before his passing. Gordon grew up in the small town of Yucaipa with his three brothers and one sister. After graduating from Yucaipa High School in only three years, he earned an AA degree from Crafton Hills College before getting his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the California State University at Chico State. As a young man, Gordon was a very hard worker as he ran many different businesses such as an Auto Body Shop, Advanced Air Heating & Cooling and Advance Systems. Gordon also worked with the United States Government during the cold war overseas working on their tracking sites. He lived in Korea, Germany, Central America and Washington DC and settled in Warrenton, Virginia as a professional land lord with many houses and tenants. As a young man Gordon, with the help of some family and friends, bought a brick house from the local church. He moved this house many blocks to its new location on his parents’ property. They moved this house without a permit on the local streets and without any issues or damages. He fixed this house up and added two bed rooms to it for his parents to live in. As a young man in his twenties, his favorite things to do were to play tennis and drive his Porsche, His brother Art called him Mr. Hollywood. Gordon traveled throughout Europe, Ukraine, Russia, Israel, and the United States, but his favorite journeys were traveling many times throughout his beloved state of Virginia with his brother George. Gordon also enjoyed the family gatherings and Kool April Nites car shows and being with his sister Kathy and brother-in-law Tom in Shasta, California. Gordon also enjoyed helping his brother Allen work at the family property and visiting with him when he was in California. Gordon also enjoyed spending time with his brother Art at his house in Joshua Tree, California. He kept in touch with his childhood and high school friends and enjoyed the reunions with the YHOGS (Yucaipa High Old Guys). Gordon was also a humanitarian, generous, creative, inquisitive, hardworking and a devout Christian and has an awesome love for Christ. He was a good neighbor and friend to many and put others first and would give his shirt off his back or loan his car to a friend in need. He has touched many lives in a good way. He had many girl friends through his life but did not find the right one to call his wife. We are all saddened by his death but are thankful for his faith in his eternal life with Jesus Christ. He is survived by his three brothers and one sister (Allen, Kathy, Art, George) and by his three nieces, Jackie, Jamie, and Tracy. He leaves behind seven great nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law Tom Wickware and sister-in-law’s Karen and Sharon and many friends. May God be with him, keep him and bless him.
