Frances Ann Wells

Frances Ann Wells, age 79, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at her home in Gainesville, VA surrounded by the presence and prayers of her family. Born on April 9, 1941 in Hot Springs, Virginia, she was the daughter to the late Wilfred Francis LaRue and Mary Louise (Graham) LaRue Copes, and Dr. Arthur W. Copes her stepfather. Predeceased by her sister, Gloria LaRue and survived by a brother Wilfred Francis LaRue, Jr. The love of her life was her husband and high school sweetheart, Randall Scott Wells “Randy”. Together until her passing for almost 60 years they had one son, Randall Scott Wells, Jr. “Scott” along with daughter-in-law Terri Lynn Wells of Gainesville, VA and one daughter, Tracy Ann Wells of Manassas, VA. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Marshall and Victoria Wells, and Joshua, Peter, and Gracie (Wells) Lum. She will also be greatly missed by her little dog “Bailey” who was protective over her during her struggle to fight brain cancer, which she fought bravely until the end. Frances will be greatly missed by many friends and family members. She loved to dance and sing along to music and was once recruited to make an appearance on T.V. for her dancing. She spent her younger years living in the mountains and late in life wanted to share that experience with her family and grandchildren so they could experience life surrounded by nature, beauty, and simplicity. She succeeded with that vision by having a retreat home in the mountains of West Virginia where the family made many beautiful memories together. She also created family time with yearly family trips to the Outer Banks, NC. Her love of God and family were the two most important things to her. Frances, and her husband Randy, succeeded together in starting and operating a successful commercial lighting business; United Lighting & Supply, Inc., of which she was vice president and helped manage for many years. Her main role in life was as a stay at home mom which she took pride in the most. Also, the love between her and her husband was a testimony to many seldom seen anymore. Her children are forever thankful for her nurture and care of them and her grandchildren. Frances was also a member of Manassas Baptist Church and proclaimed her love of Jesus her entire life. Her faith was often shown in the way she cared for her family, friends, and strangers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 16, 2020 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Pierce Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA. Graveside services will be officiated by her cousin Rev. Mark H. Jenkins of Richmond, VA and held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 12:00 Noon at Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, VA 23238.
