Elizabeth Carver

With heavy hearts yet grateful souls, we remember the life of Elizabeth Carver—a devoted wife, loving daughter, caring sister, cherished auntie, and a woman whose life was guided by faith, sacrifice, and unconditional love. She passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on January 30, 1960, Elizabeth was the third of five children to Victorina and Isabelo Sr. Sadly, her father, Isabelo Sr., passed away at a young age, leaving Victorina—a strong and selfless woman —to raise their children on her own while working tirelessly as a teacher to provide for her family. From her mother, Elizabeth learned resilience, humility, and the value of hard work. Growing up in poverty, she endured many hardships, yet she never allowed her circumstances to define her future. Instead, they shaped her strength. As a young woman, Elizabeth worked tirelessly to support her education—taking on multiple jobs, including working as a promodiser, and helping her mother on their farm. Every sacrifice she made was rooted in hope: hope for a better life, not only for herself, but for her family. Through determination and faith, Elizabeth achieved her dream of becoming an engineer. While working in Subic, she met her beloved husband, Paul. Their relationship grew through love, commitment, and shared dreams, leading them to pursue a future together. They got married in Guam and later moved to Washington DC in pursuit of a brighter future. Elizabeth’s love for her family knew no limits. To provide for them, she courageously accepted overseas deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, working under the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Despite the dangers and distance from home, she served with bravery and dedication, carrying her family in her heart every step of the way. A woman of strong and unwavering faith, Elizabeth was a devoted member of the Iglesia ni Cristo. Her faith was her anchor through every trial and triumph. It guided her decisions, strengthened her during moments of fear, and inspired her to live a life of service and righteousness. She believed deeply in God’s promises and trusted His will in all things. As a loving daughter, Elizabeth honored her mother’s sacrifices and remained devoted to her until the end. As a sister and auntie, she was a pillar of support—always ready to guide, encourage, and give without hesitation. She found joy in lifting others, quietly helping relatives and even strangers in need. She especially believed in the power of education and generously supported many so they could pursue their studies and dreams. Elizabeth’s life was one of quiet heroism—marked not by ease, but by perseverance; not by wealth alone, but by generosity; not by words, but by action. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” —2 Timothy 4:7 Elizabeth fought her good fight with grace. She finished her race with courage. And she kept her faith until the end. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort in knowing that her life was well lived, her faith remained strong, and her love endures in all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
