Douglas Franklin Thee

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Franklin Thee on the afternoon of November 11, 2024, at the age of 82. Doug was born on August 8, 1942, and after facing many health challenges in recent years, he passed away peacefully. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Doug had an extraordinary ability to connect with people, often striking up conversations and sharing stories about nearly every place he visited. He was a lover of the outdoors, finding great joy in sitting by the lake, soaking in the tranquility of nature. He also enjoyed deer hunting, tinkering with cars, and spending time in the garage. Throughout his life, Doug worked in various roles, but he found fulfillment in the later years of his career running his own cleaning company, keeping the Prince William County Courthouse spotless. Doug is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Patricia Thee of Dumfries, VA; his sons, Donald and Jamie Thee; and his sister, Pat Stratton, of Culpepper, VA; . He also leaves behind nephews Troy Finger and DeWayne Finger of Clyde, NC, James Finger of Gainesville, GA, Kenneth Gordon and Mac Gordon of Cross Junction, VA; niece RoseLynn Gordon of Kaiser, WV; nephews Samuel Gordon of Orange, VA, and James Gordon of Mathias, WV; as well as special cousins Karey Little of Fredericksburg, VA, Jeannette Hardy of Watertown, NY, and Crystal Oeler of Lake of the Woods, VA. Patricia’s children, Bob Validum of Dumfries, VA, and Toresa Romanik of Woodbridge, VA, also cherish his memory. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Cora Virginia Seese Thee; his first wife, Norma Thee; his siblings, Ormond Thee, Clyde Thee, and Laurel Rose Gordon; and his son, Douglas Thee Jr. A celebration of Doug's life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, 15890 Crest Drive, in Woodbridge, VA. His family and friends will gather to honor his life, share memories, and find comfort in each other. Doug’s warmth, love for people, and gentle spirit will live on in all who were blessed to know him. He will forever be remembered for his stories, his laughter, and his unwavering love for his family and friends.
