Charles Anderson Blake

Charles Anderson Blake passed away on June 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends, leaving behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished forever. Charles was a hardworking man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. If something needed to be done, family and friends knew they could count on him. He was often the overseer of all things, always ready to roll, ride out, and tackle whatever challenge came his way. His strong work ethic, dependable nature, and willingness to help others defined the kind of man he was. Beyond his work and responsibilities, Charles enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He loved playing bingo, taking trips to the casino, enjoying a Miller Lite, and sharing stories, laughter, and good times with those around him. He valued family, friendship, and making memories with the people he loved. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Granville Mitchell Blake and Mae Virginia (Sharp) Blake; his beloved wife, Doris Laverne Blake; his brothers, Robert Blake, Granville “Junior” Blake, Tommy Blake, and Kenny Blake; and his sisters, Mary Knighting, Dolly Blake, and Martha Blake. He is survived by his children, Chris Blake, Teresa Berhalter, Melinda Taylor, and Denise Adkins; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nephews whom he loved as if they were his own grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Hitt and Marion Rotz; and his brothers, Joe Blake, Jimmy Blake, and Darrell Blake. In recent years, Charles spent much of his time with his sister, Betty Hitt, who lovingly stood beside him through many medical procedures and life’s challenges. Together they shared countless days of bingo, casino trips, laughter, and companionship that brought joy to both of their lives. Charles leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and will miss him greatly. His presence, wisdom, humor, and unwavering support created a lasting impact on all who knew him. Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in the memories we shared and the example he set through his hard work, generosity, and love for family. His legacy will live on through those who were fortunate enough to know and love him. Charles will be greatly missed, forever remembered, and always loved. Graveside Service A graveside service honoring the life of Charles Anderson Blake will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Woodbine Cemetery, 12914 Canova Drive, Manassas, Virginia 20112.
