Beatrice Ann Midkiff

Beatrice “Bea” Ann Midkiff,74, of Manassas, VA, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026. Born in Washington, D.C., on September 11, 1951, Bea was raised in Laurel, Maryland. She graduated from Laurel High School in 1969 and continued her education at University of Maryland and Prince George’s Community College where she earned her associate’s degree. It was during these formative years that she met the love of her life, Ray Midkiff, in 1968. The two began dating in 1971, married in 1973, and built a devoted life together spanning more than five decades. After several years in Annapolis, Maryland where Bea worked for H&R Block and welcomed her cherished daughter, Rebecca, the family relocated to Manassas, Virginia. Bea dedicated over 20 years of service with Bell Atlantic before retiring. She was a faithful parishioner of All Saints Catholic Church for 38 years. Bea found immense joy in supporting her daughter’s many activities, tending to her garden, traveling, listening to country music and cheering on her beloved Washington Nationals. She was an avid and passionate duckpin bowler. She enjoyed many nights playing on church leagues with family and friends. Above all, her favorite moments were spent surrounded by her great-nieces and great-nephews, who brought endless light to her life. Bea is survived by her loving husband, Ray Midkiff; her daughter, Rebecca Ann Midkiff (Joe); beloved cousin Linda Blake; her stepbrother James W.; her stepsister Susie (joe), and stepsister in-law Meow and extended family of nieces, and nephews, and dear friends. She was precedent in death by her father, Roy Ashlin; her mother, Nellie Jones; her brother Roy Ashlin JR; her stepmother, Margaret Smith; and stepbrother Alton. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Bea on Monday, August 24, 2026, from 11:30 AM – 12:20 PM at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas VA 20110. A mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at All Saints Catholic Church. Following the mass, a gathering to celebrate Bea’s life will be held in the reception hall at Pierce Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association in Bea’s memory.
