Barry S. King

Barry Soney King (Bam), 60, of Manassas, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026. Bam was born on May 22, 1965, in Herndon, Virginia. He was the youngest of eight children born to the late Howard King and the late Norma Simms. He was raised in the Alexandria, Virginia area and spent much of his life building strong connections with lifelong friends. Bam dedicated many years of service working for Roy Rogers, where he was known for his hard work, commitment and pleasantly greeting his regular customers. Outside of work, he enjoyed music, fishing, watching sports, and attending live concerts—especially at the Carter Barron & Birchmere. His siblings also knew Bam as Go-Go, nicknamed by his sister, Pebbles. He was an avid fan of Go-Go and all things related to Washington, D.C., including the sports teams! On April 24, 2011, Bam married his love, Angella, with whom he shared a home in Manassas, Virginia. He was her heartbeat and will be missed forever! Bam had a humorous personality and a gift for bringing joy and laughter to those around him. He loved talking on the phone with everyone, spending time with family and friends, sharing laughter, telling jokes, and celebrating life’s moments—big and small. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Angie; his siblings, including brothers Howard, Terry (Karen), Melvin, and Michael (Teresa); his sisters Debra and Roxanne; his loyal brother-in-law Ricky; his daughters Pamela and Donna; his step-children Devon & Jessica; Grandaughters Joy, Kaniyah, Bella, and Andrea (PeeWee); Grandson, Jontae; Step-father, Herbert (Butch) Byrd; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, extended family, and dear friends. He also leaves behind his lifelong friends Lloyd & the Floods. Bam was preceded in death by his Father, Howard King; Mother Norma (Brenda) Simms; Sister, Donna (Pebbles) Steppe; and Nephews, Jontae Spinner and Brandon Thurman. Bam’s legacy of love, laughter, and strong family bonds will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Family and friends will gather for a Visitation on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center St., Manassas, VA 20110. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM.
