Aaron William Thompson

Aaron William Thompson, age 53, of Manassas, VA, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, December 21, 2025, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on February 11, 1972, in Fairfax, Virginia, to Sherman “Buddy” William Thompson and Mary Elizabeth Jenkins Thompson. On September 21, 1996, he married Mary Virginia Holt Thompson. Aaron was a devoted father, son, brother, husband, and friend. He loved the outdoors, whether he was skiing, swimming, mowing the lawn on the riding mower, or camping beneath the stars. But more than anything, he loved spending time with his family—especially his son, Spencer, who was the light of his life. Aaron shared a deep and unbreakable bond with his sister, Andrea and was very close with her children. He brought energy and warmth wherever he went. His heart was open to everyone he met. Everyone knew when Aaron walked into a room, and no one remained a stranger for long. He would give anything he had to anyone that he cared about or was in need. He lived life to the fullest, with compassion, humor, and a genuine love for people. Fun, caring, and giving, Aaron will forever be remembered. His love lives on through his son, Spencer, and through his niece, nephews, friends, and family who were blessed to be a part of his life. Survivors include son: Spencer Thompson; mother: Mary Elizabeth Jenkins Thompson; father: Sherman "Buddy" Thompson and wife Sandra; sister: Andrea Lynn Thompson and husband Dean Rogers; brother: Monroe Theodore; Aunt: Susie Wyatt; Cousin: Lisa Wyatt Karr; niece: Sofia MaryAnna Rogers; nephews: Gabriel Aaron Rogers and Noah Wyatt Rogers. He is also survived by cherished family friends who were like siblings to him, Linda Rupp (husband Greg Draves); Laura Mardo (husband Darin Mardo); Leslie Breite (Husband John Breite) and their mother Jacquelyn Rupp along with many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife (the love of his life) Mary Virginia Holt Thompson, his uncle Ernest Wyatt, cousin Donna Sue Wyatt and John Paul Rupp, Jr. Family and friends will gather for a visitation on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 4:00 PM- 6:00 PM at Pierce Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 9609 Center Street in Manassas, VA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel at Pierce Funeral Home & Cremations Services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The House of Mercy Home - House of Mercy or The Safe Project SAFE Project - Stop the Addiction Fatality Epidemic.
