XIANGQUN ZHU

November 21, 1969 - February 1, 2022

Xiangqun Zhu of Manassas VA, age 52, peacefully passed away in the arms of her daughter (Angela Zhu) and caregivers in the morning of February 1st, 2022. Xiangqun was born in Shanghai, China, later immigrated with her daughter to Herndon, VA to join her sisters’ families and her mother. It was there she celebrated joyful times at countless family gatherings, always tends to the large family with her inborn compassion, and tirelessly lends her helping hands to her nieces and nephews with the purest love. During festival or birthday celebrations, Xiangqun always passionately prepares her favorite dishes for the occasion with the utmost kindness and seasons them with caring. She was fond of the family and cherished every moment at gatherings. Dinner table never once missed her sunny spirit and sharing time with the family always sparkled her warm smiles. As a single mother, Xiangqun was especially close to her daughter, she dedicated all she could and had in the enriching upbringing and nourishment of her daughter. The two of them enjoyed traveling and food tasting. Out of the many sights visited, she was particularly fond of coastal cities, watching sunsets on the beach along with her daughter, and spending quality time in Shenandoah during foliage time. Xiangqun’s eagerness to enjoy life to its fullest took her across the globe to various cities in China, in the States, Niagara Falls, Cancun of Mexico, Victoria Peak in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Sahara Desert in Morocco. Xiangqun’s strengths to face unforeseen challenges and passion of life shined through every moment in her earthly journey, and never let obstacles alter her unconditioned loving heart. She was a matriarch to her daughter, her selflessness presented her to be a role model to many. The sweet and gentle memories of her will live on and would not be forgotten by those who got to know her and enlightened by her smiles. Xiangqun is survived by her mother, daughter, two older sisters and their families. The funeral service will be held on 2/12/2022 starting at 10 am to 11 am at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas VA 20110.
