Ruth LuRee Flatt Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ruth LuRee Flatt, age 78 of Manassas, VA, died peacefully Thursday, June 16, 2022, in Cary, NC. Born on January 22, 1944, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of James Harry and Ruth Tilden Gray of Falls Church, VA. A friendly, honest and hard-working woman, she enjoyed a 37-year career at the Central Intelligence Agency (C.I.A.) in numerous roles requiring various security clearances. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gary Allen Flatt of Manassas, brothers, James Tilden and Donald Thomas both of Manassas, sisters, Katherine Duryea, also of Manassas and Patricia Haberman, of Rockville, MD. She is survived by her daughter, Ruth LuRee and her husband, Andrew Henson Carson, grandchildren, Tobias Allen, Madeline Virginia and Kayla Ruth of Cary, NC and great-grandson, Jasper Andrew Carson Hines of Stumpy Point, NC. LuRee was a remarkable lady who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 27th at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 8006 Centreville Road, Manassas, at 10:30. Intermittent to follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens.
