Rodney Lynn Parsons Sr.

Rodney Lynn Parsons Sr. of Manassas, Virginia passed away unexpectedly in his sleep at his home on 6/17/2022, he was 60 years old. Rodney was born 12/20/1961 in Weston, West Virginia. Rodney was the son of the late Harry Parsons Sr. and Geraldine Marie (Marks) Parsons. Rodney worked most of his life in the construction field either on high-rise buildings or utility contracting. In his spare time, Rodney loved spending time with his girlfriend, dog Pepper, children, grandchildren, shooting pool, going to flea markets and watching Nascar on tv. Rodney loved eating crab legs, as well as cooking out on his grill/smoker. Rodney enjoyed going out to eat with his family even though he was known as the slowest eater of all time. He loved taking his dog Pepper to the pet store on his weekends off as well as watching her play out in the backyard in her swimming pool. He constantly joked with his kids and girlfriend about wanting them to buy him a Harley Davidson motorcycle just to see what silly reason they would come up with to convince him otherwise. Rodney was a person with a heart of gold and would give his last dollar to anyone in need without the expectation of getting it back. He was the type to randomly pay for a stranger’s food at a restaurant just to be nice. Rodney was very known for his sense of humor that could cheer up almost anyone. His presence when walking into a room would bring smiles to all. Rodney was a man with little concern of time and would show up and depart almost as quick, neither with much notice at times. Upon showing up, his first question would usually be, “what is for dinner? “. Surviving are his two children Rodney Parsons Jr. (Amanda Simpson) and Brandi Eichelberger (Jeff Eichelberger) and 3 grandchildren (Haley, Ryan and Levi) as well as his domestic partner Donna “Lynn” Robertson. Also surviving are his Mother Geraldine M Parsons and a sister Kennetta Sampsel (Paul) of Ohio; brothers Harry Parsons Jr. (Debbie) of Florida, Kevin Parsons of West Virginia and David Parsons Sr. (Kelly Parsons) of Maryland as well as his nieces, nephew, cousins and many friends. Rodney’s remains will be cremated and no service will be held due to Rodney and his family’s request.
