Linda H. Savacool

May 15, 1949 - May 9, 2022

On May 9th, Linda Hughes Savacool, our loving mother, and beloved wife, died suddenly and unexpectedly of heart failure. She entered the Lord’s presence six days shy of her 73rd birthday. She was the devoted and caring wife of her husband, Edwin M Savacool, for 54 years. Linda was born and raised in Phillipsburg, New Jersey where she attended Phillipsburg Catholic High School. She was described as spreading happiness wherever she went and blessed with the “the voice of an angel.” During high school she sang in her church choir and was a cast member of numerous plays, including the Music Man, the King and I, and Call Me Madam. She also performed with the Chansonnette Theater in Easton, PA as a cast member of Annie Get Your Gun and Camelot. She was also a member of the school cheerleading team. During the 26 years of her husband’s military service, she lovingly cared for him and their children and actively supported the military communities around the world where they were stationed, through widely varied volunteer positions. After her husband retired from the military, she continued her support to others through volunteer positions and personal interaction. Most recently, as a member of Manassas Baptist Church, she enthusiastically supported the homeless ministry. While her primary focus during her lifetime was caring for her family and volunteering, she also held bookkeeping, teacher’s assistant, and medical office support positions. However, her proudest accomplishment was raising their two children as a loving mom. Linda was predeceased by Margaret, and Thomas Hughes, her parents. She is survived by her husband, Edwin Savacool and children, Matthew and Christa Savacool, five grandchildren, Taylor Chessnoe, Nicole Chessnoe, Dylan Savacool, Greyson Shambaugh, and Ethan Savacool. The family will receive friends and family at Manassas Baptist Church, 8730 Sudley Rd, Manassas, VA 20110 on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 10 to 11 p.m. where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at a future date in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Manassas Baptist Church supported Manassas Hope for the Homeless Organization (http://www.manassashopeforthehomeless.org/) or the American Heart Association.
