Linda Jean Butler Robinson

February 5, 1943 - April 7, 2022

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our mother, Linda Jean Butler, 79, of Manassas VA. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 7, 2022. Linda was born on February 5, 1943, in Washington, D.C. She was predeceased by her father, Ashby Nelson Butler, Jr, Petty Officer First Class, USN Seabee, and mother, Dorothy Mildred Poole. Growing up in a military family she lived abroad in many places such as Trinidad and Tobago, Guam, and Hawaii. She attended high school in Guam at George Washington High School and attended college at the University of Hawaii. While in Hawaii, she fell in love with the islands and the people. She longed to return. She worked for the Department of Defense at Vint Hill Farms Station and Marine Corps Base Quantico and retired after 28 years of service. Linda collected Hummel figurines, Teddy bears, and handbells. She was an avid Spades player. The highlight of her life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She adored and doted on them. She is survived by her brother, Wayne Ashby Butler of Snoqualmie, WA, her three children, Diane Robinson, 53 of Fort Washington MD, Patricia Schryer, 49, of Catlett, VA, Terence Robinson, 47 of Tallahassee, FL. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Ashten Herndon, 29, Austen Robinson 25, Jenasis Robinson 13, Chase Robinson, 10, 2 great-grandchildren, Arabella and Jackson Herndon, and 1 niece and 3 nephews and 4 step-grandchildren. On Friday, April 29, 2022, a memorial service will be held at 4 pm at Pierce Funeral Home in Manassas, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the American Diabetes Association. A reception will follow the memorial service at the same location from 5 to 8 pm.
