Kathleen Crowley Devey, Wife, Mom, Grandmother, Sister, Friend and avid Red Sox fan passed away on February 14, 2022 after a three year fight against cancer. She was surrounded by her family and holding the hand of her husband of 47 years. Kathy is survived by her husband, James Devey; her children Jaime Barnhart, Meghan Baglio (Christopher Baglio), and Brian Devey as well as her seven grandchildren: Grace Barnhart, William Barnhart, Delaney Barnhart, Jackson Baglio, Gavin Baglio, Hudson Baglio, and Skylar Devey. Kathleen (Ann) Crowley Devey was born on July 18, 1952 in Holyoke, Massachusetts to Patricia and Richard Crowley. Kathy was the oldest of four siblings, grew up in Wellesley, Massachusetts and spent her summers on The Cape. Kathy married James Randolph Devey on May 17, 1975. They spent their 47 years of marriage raising children, spending time with grandchildren and traveling. They had a special annual trip, just the two of them to Aruba. Kathy loved to have her feet in the sand. Kathy attended George Washington University and graduated in 1975 with Bachelor’s of Arts in American Studies. After college, Kathy was fortunate enough to raise her three children while also volunteering, serving on the PTA, being a Girl Scouts leader, always present and taking care of others while making sure she was in charge. When Kathy returned to work, she enjoyed a long and successful career in meeting and convention management, earning her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation in 2006. She spent many years in the industry, without a doubt making a lasting, loving impression on all who worked alongside her. Kathy had a life full of amazing friends, cousins and family. She never let a day go by without telling everyone she knew how much she cared about them. Above all, Kathy’s greatest accomplishments were her three children: Jaime, Meghan and Brian,7 grandchildren: Grace, Will, Delaney, Jackson, Gavin, Hudson and Skylar; And the love of her life, “Mr. Wonderful.” A service and reception in Kathy’s honor will be held Saturday, March 5 at 2:00pm at Heritage Hunt Country Club in Gainesville, VA.
