James Thomas Dempsey, Jr. age 44, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 in Manassas Park, VA. He was born on February 2, 1977 in Manassas, VA. He was survived by his son: Tyler John Dempsey; parents: John and Cindy Addy; sister: Heaven Wood; two nieces: Amber Warshauer (George Bashian) and Tiphanie Gregory (Greg Jones); three nephews: Kyle Warshauer (Morgan Stewardson), Cody Warshauer (Charlotte Stevens) and Bailey Wood; great nieces and nephews: Ella Bashian, Lyla Warshauer, Grace Peters, Camdon Warshauer and Cori Warshauer; His Bonus Family: Tanya, Michael, Tricia and Connie Crabill; and The Banta Family. He is also survived by his Aunts and Uncles Frank and Cindy Smith, Crystal and Carlyle Jones, Diane and Bobby Hooks and numerous cousins and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father James Thomas Dempsey Sr. and his grandparents. James loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He cherished every moment with his son and adored spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was often found working outside on the yard or garden or fixing and building things around the house. He loved doing anything that allowed him to be outside. James was a lifelong Washington sports fan, especially all things Skins and Nationals. He loved learning new things and would often watch documentaries for hours at a time. He was great with his hands and would help many people around the community with anything they needed. He could make you laugh for hours and was liked by everyone that he met. James had many struggles in life and hoped to eventually become an addiction counselor to help others the way he had been helped. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 at New Hope Christian Church, 8310 Plantation Lane, Manassas, VA 20110. Visitation will be from 10:30am to 11:30am and services will begin at 11:30am. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of flowers or we ask you to make a donation to any charity you choose.
