Gerald Neil Gobie Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gerald “Jerry” Neil Gobie passed away peacefully at his home in Manassas, Virginia on January 5, 2021 surrounded by family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Neil and Anna Gobie of Florida. He was the eldest of 5 children. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Katherine “Kitty” Gobie, sisters Phyllis and Linda, 4 children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as countless friends. Jerry was born January 24, 1928 in Miami, Florida. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served proudly and honorably for over 20 years. He retired as a Master Sergeant. In 1969, Jerry settled with his family in Northern Virginia. There he began his second career as a civil servant at the Navy Annex / Henderson Hall as a budget analyst. He retired from Civil Service after 27 years and continued to work as a tax preparer for H&R Block for many years. Jerry was an avid golfer, member of the Manassas Men’s Club and worshipped at Grace United Methodist Church. He was the kindest and gentlest of men. He was loved by many and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
