Eleanor Ruth Ryan Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Eleanor Ruth Ryan, age 84, of Gainesville, Virginia passed away peacefully with her family on July 2, 2022. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Robert and Ellen Becker, Eleanor lived most of her life in Virginia. She married her high school sweetheart in 1956 in Winchester, Virginia. Next month they would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Eleanor is survived by her loving husband and caretaker Jim, daughter-in-law Sheri Ryan, son Dan Ryan and wife Tammy, daughter Kathleen Garrison, daughter Karen Eanes and husband Paul. Eleanor is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Vicky Davis, Christina Dodson and husband Steve, Sean Ryan and wife Catherine, Valerie Rapoli and husband James, Scott Ryan and wife Jennifer, Stephanie Weaver and husband Jon, and Tyler Garrison. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, Cameron Dodson, Cheyenne Ryan, Haiden Dodson, Liam Ryan, Allie Ryan, Reese Dodson, Zeke Ryan, Connor Davis, Autumn Rapoli, Scott Ryan Jr., James Rapoli III., Miles Ryan, Bailey Ryan, and Wyatt Weaver, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Eleanor was preceded in death, by her son, James K. Ryan and her brother, Robert W. Becker. She was a tender loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and a friend to all she met. Her faith in Jesus never wavered! She was the first to pray in any given situation. Eleanor dearly loved the times that she was able to visit with her family, celebrating birthdays, weddings, births, holidays and more. Eleanor loved popcorn and movies, John Wayne and watching Gun Smoke. She was always jovial and every time you left her presence, her favorite thing to say was, “Love you more.” She will be deeply missed! The family would also like to thank the healthcare workers from Heartland Hospice who tirelessly attended to her needs for the last 18 months. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Pierce Funeral Home at 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA 20110. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens, 12004 Lee Highway, Manassas, VA 20109 at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Michael’s Anglican Church, 14540 John Marshall Highway, Suite 101, Gainesville, VA 20155.
