Doris Jean Bittorf

September 9, 1934 - January 12, 2022

Doris Jean Bittorf, 87 (forever 39 at heart), lived in Manassas for 61 years and later moved to Nokesville Virginia where she passed away on January 12, 2022. She was born on September 9, 1934 in Lynchburg, Virginia as the second of three children to Janie and Walter Frazier. Growing up she was a caring sibling, devoted wife, loving mother and supportive grandmother. Her Federal Government career started at the Department of Agriculture and then later she served 24 years for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service as an accountant. Her social life consisted of being part of a bowling league, playing bingo, putting together jigsaw puzzles and enjoying countless card games/board games with her friends and family. The Sunday paper provided her with her favorite crossword and picture puzzles, but more importantly the schedules of her beloved sports teams – the Washington Redskins, Capitals and Nationals. She was a devoted fan and never missed an opportunity to root for her home teams. Her life’s passion was raising her family and watching it grow and expand over the years. Now she joins her husband, Clifford E. Bittorf, daughters Susan Campbell and Gloria Bryant, and parents Janie and Walter Frazier in Heaven. She is survived by her daughters Karen Dvorscak and husband Peter; Loretta Pfahlert and husband Terry; Carol Dunn and husband Kenny and son-in-law Thomas Campbell. Five grandchildren: Sam Campbell, Chris Campbell, Melissa Campbell, David Dill and wife Heidi, and Tyler Dill and wife Ahna. Seven great-grandchildren: Aubree, Amelia, Carolyn, Ben, Jaxon, Gunnar, and Beckett. A viewing will be held from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Pierce Funeral Home (9609 Center Street, Manassas, Virginia, 20110). Her funeral will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 27, 2022, also at Pierce Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 1:30 PM at Stafford Memorial Park (154 Shelton Shop Road, Stafford, Virginia 22554). There is a reception after the graveside burial where the family invites friends to enjoy some food and continue to celebrate Jean. If you would like to make a donation in lieu of sending flowers, Doris’s favorite charities are Shriners Hospital for Children and The Smile Train Cleft Charity. She also had a great love for animals so please consider donating to Culpeper Humane Society in loving memory of Doris Jean Bittorf.
