December 27, 1945 - November 8, 2021
Carlene Alma Harding (aka “Aunt Bee”) of Culpeper, VA, completed her 75-year journey here on earth and went home to be with her precious Lord and Savior on November 8, 2021. She left us with the most beautiful, glowing smile that we will be able to hold dear to our hearts until we join her again in heaven. Carlene was born on December 27th, 1945 in Miami, Florida. Carlene was a very successful and well-liked manager in the federal systems industry and retired from Lockheed Martin. She received a multitude of awards and recognition over the years for her leadership and professional achievements. Carlene was a proud patriot who loved her country, always eager to cast her vote. She had an infectious sense of humor, loved to laugh with others, and had a smile that could light the darkest path. As a longtime Redskins fan, she enjoyed friendly banter with loved ones over upcoming games, always remaining a true fan to her team despite the outcome. She appreciated the small things in life, especially her peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chocolate milk, and a side of vanilla ice cream with caramel. Carlene adored doves, cardinals, yellow roses, and dachshunds. She had a very giving heart, loved to do volunteer work, and was a living testimony of what it truly means to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Carlene was most passionate about her love of the Lord, her church, and her church family, especially Pastor Ken Taylor and his gracious wife Silvia, their wonderful children, and Brother Danny Taylor. There was nothing that she enjoyed more than being at her church - teaching Sunday School to the little ones, singing praises, participating in revivals, and hearing the powerful word of the Lord. Her favorite verse was John 3:16 and those that knew her know she would have attended church eight days a week, but God only created seven. As her journey became more challenging over time, her church was what she missed the most. We take great comfort in knowing that she will now be in church for eternity. If you listen quietly, you can hear her say, “Amen,” to that. Carlene was preceded in death by her best friend and husband of 38 years, Gary C. Harding, her father and mother, Frank and Elizabeth Weston, and her brothers, “baby” Frankie Weston and Paul Weston. She is survived by her son Gary Harding and his wife Becky of Culpeper, VA, daughter Ann Cañas and her husband Nelson of Midland, VA, grandchildren Justin Harding and his wife Alana of Culpeper, VA, Amanda Harding of Manassas VA, Rachel Prater and her husband Chuck of Staunton, VA, Catherine Williams of Harrisonburg, VA, and Heather Cañas of Midland, VA, as well as three great-grandchildren, Mason Bentel of Harrisonburg, VA, Elsie Harding of Culpeper, VA, and Adeline Harding of Culpeper, VA.
