William Jordan

WILLIAM WADE JORDAN, 51 died at home on Monday, July 9, 2007 after a two year battle with cancer. Wade was born in Washington, DC to the late Charles R. Jordan of Manassas, VA and the late Roberta Fox Payne of Haymarket, VA. He was raised in the town of Haymarket, VA and moved to Manassas, VA shortly after beginning his career with the Fairfax County Police Department. Just over two years ago, he and his wife moved to Front Royal, VA. Wade retired from Fairfax County Police Department as a Master Police Officer in 1997 and was most recently employed by Fairfax County Public Schools as a Safety and Security Assistant at Mountain View Alternative High School in Centreville, VA. He loved being outdoors, enjoyed working on anything mechanical, including cars, trucks and antique tractors and he was an avid motorcyclist. He was adored by his family and kept everyone on their toes with his quick wit. He was and will always be our hero. Survivors include his wife, Terri L. Jordan of Front Royal, VA, formerly from Manassas, VA; three daughters, Jenny R. Klinck and husband Scott of Stafford, VA, Christina N. Cummings and husband Bobby of Manassas, VA and Jennifer L. Colbert of Manassas, VA; one son, William W. Jordan II of Front Royal, VA; two granddaughters, Briana and Tasha Cummings of Manassas, VA; his mother, Geneva Jordan of Manassas, VA; one brother, Richard B. Jordan of Augusta, WV; one sister, Sharon Sampsell of Colonial Beach, VA; two nieces, Alice Elliott and husband Tripp of Fredericksburg, VA and Andrea McDaniel of Fairfax, VA and his father-in-law, Kenneth O. Beckwith of Manassas, VA. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 P.M. Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas where funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 13, 2007. Interment will follow at St. Paul's Episcopal Church Cemetery, Haymarket, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Suite 405, Winchester, Virginia 22601 in memory of William Wade Jordan.
