Sharon Lee Austin

Sharon Lee German-Austin, Age 68 of Reedville Virginia went to be with the Lord on December 21, 2023 after a long battle with Cancer. Sharon was born on October 22, 1955 to Raymond Charles and Marion Elizabeth German in Arlington, Virginia. Sharon spent her formative years in Vienna, Virginia. Sharon loved school and she excelled at it as well, Sharon graduated from James Madison High School in Vienna in 1974. While in high school Sharon began a career in the banking industry. Once graduated she continued a career in the banking industry until she moved into the home mortgage industry, Sharon’s career spanned a fifty-year career in the field. Sharon’s career was winding down with retirement on the horizon with Bank of America mortgage department. In 1980 Sharon met William Bruce Austin. Sharon and Bruce were married in 1981 and went on to have their son William (Willie) Bruce Austin II. Willie was Sharon’s world. She was made complete the day he was born. Sharon’s heart was shattered in 2018 when Willie tragically lost his life and went to be with the Lord. Sharon was also predeceased by her Mother Marion, Father Raymond, Brother Adrian, Brother William, Niece Lisa, Nephew Mark, and numerous lifelong friends. Sharon was in the process of beginning a new and exciting life in Reedville, VA. She purchased a lovely house in a bayfront community. She bought a golf cart and never looked back; she drove that golf cart everyday to visit her friends that lived in the same community as well as every person she met along the way. Sharon never met a stranger, to her a stranger was just a friend she hadn’t met yet! Sharon loved to get on her golf cart and ride up to the communities bayfront beach and socialize with everyone on the way! Sharon is survived by her Granddaughter Gracelyn Willow Cooper, Sister Donna Ketchum, Brother-in-law Jerald, Brother Rick German, Niece Tracey, Niece Renee, Niece Jennifer, Niece Jessica, Niece Tammi, Niece Marie, Niece Jennifer, Nephew Adrian, and Nephew Ricky, and many, many friends! Celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at Pierce Funeral Home in Manassas, VA on January 2, 2024 beginning at ten o’clock, followed by her service beginning at eleven and a gravesite service being held at the Stonewall Memorial Gardens in Manassas, VA at twelve. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society, or any organization that is striving to find a cure for this terrible disease! The terrible disease that took our beautiful, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and extremely special friend from us too soon! We Love You Sharon!
