Rolland Cyrille Dion

Rolland Cyrille Dion was born in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada on May 17, 1958, and passed away on December 6, 2022. Rolland had a challenging childhood as his mother died at a young age. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Wilson Dion, Sr. and Jeannine Desnoyers, as well as his foster parents, Richard and Eunice Foubert. He was also pre-deceased by his brothers Wilson, “Coco” Dion, Jr. and Marcel Dion. Rolland is survived by his wife, Linda K. Hawkins Dion, his daughter Jeannine M. Dion, his son Joshua M. Dion and Meagan Macauley who have two children, Athena and Maverick. Rolland also has a stepdaughter Sheryl A. Barnhouse and her husband, Geoffrey Barnhouse, and two step grandchildren Caroline and Nicholas. He was also pre-deceased by a stepson, John Steven Hawkins, the husband of Sheena Diplal Hawkins and his third step granddaughter, Leah. He is also survived by his sister, Gertrude Dion, and her husband, Ahmad Rafiei, as well as his brother Richard “Ricky” Dion residing in Canada. He is also survived by three sister-in-law’s, numerous aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews, as well as “step”nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Rolland was a doting, father and grandfather. His step grandchildren lovingly called him “Poo Pa”. He loved being around them and spoiling them rotten. Rolland was a truck driver at Branscome Paving Company in Manassas Virginia and loved his job and his coworkers. Even when he had to retire due to the cancer, he still went to the job to visit with his buddies. He loved people, and they loved him! He had a great sense of humor, always joking around and a big heart. He made friends wherever he went, especially businesses that he frequented including the bank, Costco, and all of his nurses and doctors. Rolland’s favorite time of year was Christmas. He loved decorating the house, putting up the Christmas trees, and most importantly – seeing family and friends. Visitation and a memorial service will be held at Pierce Funeral Home Chapel, 9690 Center St., Manassas, VA. 20110 on Monday, December 19, 2022. Visitation is at 11:00 AM and the memorial service is at 12:00 PM. Friends and family are welcome to wear Christmas attire. Rolland would love that. The family invites everyone to Rolland’s home at 9201 Robin Lynn Court, Manassas, VA, 20110 following the service until 3:00 PM. Light Refreshments will be served. Everyone will be invited to help trim the Christmas tree, by placing an ornament (provided) on the Christmas tree. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
