Robert E.L. Altizer, Jr

Robert Edward Lee Altizer Jr. (Buddy) 80 of Nokesville, Virginia passed away April 25, 2016 at Prince William Hospital. Born January 3, 1936 in Falls Church, Virginia to Robert (Bob) Edward Lee and Virginia Elizabeth Altizer Sr. He lived the majority of his life in the Northern Virginia Area. Buddy served in the Navy until his honorable discharge on June 22nd, 1962. While in the Navy he met his best friend John Belotti Sr. who later became his brother in law when John married his younger sister Joan. He loved to talk about and remember his time in the military with John. Everyone loved to site and listen to his stories about his time in the Navy and the things him and John would do. Buddy Married is 1st wife of 48 years Evelyn Jo Anne Sprinkle on August 16, 1958. Joanne proceeded him in death on May 12, 2006. Buddy worked in the construction trade doing multiple trades until his brother in law and friend taught him the craft and trade of a brick & stone mason. Buddy had a lot of respect and gained a vast amount of knowledge from Tic. Buddy’s second wife of 3 years Pauline Harris proceeded him death May 29th, 2010. Buddy had a love for being outside. He was an avid hunter, loved to fish and shoot archery. He raised and enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren to have a love and respect for the outdoors, hunting, archery and firearms. Some of his most memorable times with his sons and grandsons were shooting firearms and taking them to archery shoots. He was survived by his seven children Robert E L Altizer III (Buddy) of Shipman, Rebecca E Richwine (Becky) of Incline Village, NV., Belinda A. Wheeler of Reva, Byron O Altizer SR. of Shipman, Brett W Altizer SR of Arizona, Brenda M. Altizer of Madison and Bridget A. Mullins of Nokesville and four Step Children Vicki Gay, Patti Hill, Kathy Demastus-Leone and Randy Demastus of Florida. Siblings Josephine Mulligan of Nokesville, Barbara Joan & John C Belotti SR of Haymarket. 16 Grandchildren & 10 Great Grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his Siblings Martha F & Tommy Keys SR and Pete Mulligan SR. One Grandson Brett W. Altizer, Jr. The family will receive friends from 12:00–1:00 PM Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA where a funeral service will be at 1:00PM with Pastor Dallas Slemp officiating.
