Payton Rose Freeze

As some of you already know, we lost our baby, Payton Rose, on February 10, 2016. Payton was a smart, funny, beautiful girl, whose life was cut short by the effects of bullying. She loved life, but in the end, the bullying was too much for her heart to handle. We all have a responsibility to make sure that no one else is made to feel the way that Payton did. We must guard our actions and be thoughtful in the way we treat one another: "Watch your thoughts, they become words. Watch your words, they become actions. Watch your actions, they become habits. Watch your habits, they become character. Watch your character for it becomes your destiny." – Frank Outlaw Here are four things you can do right this minute that can make a difference: Check your child’s phone and social media use on a regular and consistent basis Talk to your children about the importance of kindness and doing what they know is right - regardless of outside influences Be present. At home, at school, at activities. Don’t be afraid to speak up - to parents, teachers and administrators, and other adults in positions of influence. One person can make the ultimate difference when it comes to preventing bullying. If you see something or hear something, please, say something! And if you are being bullied, there is hope. Please reach out to someone you love and ask them to stand by you. When we are strong, it is our duty to stand up for others, no matter how difficult. We should live our lives “dauntlessly” as author Veronica Roth writes: “We believe in...denying fear the power to influence our decisions. We believe in ordinary acts of bravery. In the courage that drives one person to stand up for another. We believe in shouting for those who can only whisper. In defending those who cannot defend themselves.” We will be having my baby, Payton Freezes celebration of life service at Park Valley Church, 4500 Waverly Farms Drive, Haymarket, VA 20169 on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 7:00 PM. Interment will be private. She is survived by her parents Brent and Kim Freeze, a brother Joshua Hollingsworth, a sister Kayla Berlin and her grandparents James and Kim Berlin and Bob and Lois Freeze.
