Norene Julia Jones

Norene Julia Jones, 77, of Manassas, VA, peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on January 30, 2025. Born on May 31, 1947, to parents Frank and Elizabeth Weston in Miami, Florida. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and best friend of 54 years, James “Double J” Jones, her cherished daughter Bobbi Jo Jones-Baker, her parents Frank and Elizabeth Weston, her sister Carlene Harding, her brothers Frankie and Paul Weston, her grandson Richard Henson, and her faithful companion Whiskers P. Jones. Norene dedicated her career as an Inventory Control Specialist at BAE Systems in Manassas, Virginia. Her love for her family was boundless, and she welcomed everyone she met into her heart as family. An avid sports fan, she passionately supported the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Capitals, Nationals, and Alabama Football with a resounding “Roll Tide”! Norene leaves behind her loving children: Roger Jones of Crosby, TN; Pam Vaughan and Billy Sigmon of Midland, VA; Kevin and Julie Jones of Acworth, GA; Jennifer and John Massel of Dallas, TX; Kim and Frank Baker of Masury, OH; and Wendy and Jay Royalty of Sellersburg, IN. She is also survived by her sisters, Jane Shipe (Lee Shipe) and Becky Johnson (Lee Johnson), and their children and grandchildren. Her legacy continues through her twenty grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her “G-Ma”. Norene’s grandchildren and great grandchildren include Bryan Vaughan, Jonathan and Trisha Vaughan, Kyle Uda (Monica Cannon), Kenzie Uda (Josh Thornhill), Nick and Caitlin Jones, Jarred and Courtney Jones, Gordon and Mikaela Collins, Kerri and Jeff Byerly, Kelly and Morgan Law, Jessie and Andrew Tobin, Brandon Sigmon, Gigi Vaughan, Faith Uda, Aiden, Ariel, Aurea, and Avery Cannon, Jack Jones, Owen and Wyatt Jones, Ande and Anna Jo Law, Jude, Jonas and Eleanor James Byerly, Xander Vaughan and Aubrey Vaughan, Jesse James Uda, Grayson and Bobbi Jo Thornhill. Norene's life was enriched by the enduring friendships she formed with Frank and Nancy McFall, Lisa and Preston Phipps, Vickie and Ray Spears, Bill and Tina McFall, and Zeta and Michael Presley. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, whose greatest passion was her unwavering faith in Jesus, Our Lord and Savior. Her strong faith in The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost helped her endure life's many challenges. Her favorite verse was Psalm 91. Norene was a radiant soul who never met a stranger and treated everyone like family. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. The family will receive friends at Pierce Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA, on Wednesday, February 5th, 2025, from 5-8 PM, and on Thursday morning from 9:00-10:00 AM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 6th, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by interment at Stonewall Memory Gardens.
