Naomi V. Bullard

It is with a rejoicing sorrow and deep love for our family that we honor the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother; Naomi Virginia Bullard. She passed peacefully on July 14th, 2026 at the wonderful old age of 93. Naomi was born in Culpeper, Virginia to Everett Berkley Claxton and Gertrude Alice Dwyer on December 27th, 1932. She began life on the family farm in Remington, Virginia with her mother, father, and brother, Charles (Barney) Thompson Claxton. On September 18, 1954; Naomi was married to Carl Frederick Bullard at Mount Holy Baptist Church in Remington, Virginia, starting their own family in Fairfax, Virginia. They had two daughters, Paula Jean and Joan Lynn. Naomi and Carl were married for 70 years until Carl passed on November 15th, 2024. As the matriarch of her clan, she never failed to ensure that family was able to be together. Holidays and traditions always felt like top priority for her, only second to how she made the people around her feel. Cooking/Baking and hosting allowed her to express her love in a way that could never be replaced. After he retired, Naomi and Carl, along with their camping group traveled throughout the country, ingraining countless memories, most of which were documented in Naomi’s numerous photo albums. Almost all the way up to the end of their adventures, grandma was holding a disposable camera. Naomi is survived by her two daughters: Paula Jean Walker and Robert Alan Walker Son-in-law; Joan Lynn Pillis and Greg Pillis Son-in-law; and her loving grandchildren: Christopher James Huff and Carrie Huff (spouse), Lesley Ann Cunningham and Charles Cunningham Jr (Spouse), Matthew Clayton Walker and Elizabeth Walker (Spouse), and Kari Lynn Arnold and William Arnold (spouse); and her 8 beautiful great-grandchildren . She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, and her brother, Charles (Barney). A celebration of life will be held on July 20th, 2026 at Pierce Funeral Home in Manassas, Virginia at 10:00 a.m., followed by graveside service at Stonewall Memorial Gardens at 12:00 p.m. The family would like to extend a heartfelt and sincere thank you to everyone at Magnolia of Front Royal, Gentiva Hospice, and Pierce Funeral Home, for all their care and support for Naomi and her family.
