Nancee W. Fleming

Nancee Fleming of Manassas, VA went to be with her Lord on Monday April 28, 2025. She was born November 29, 1935, in Olney, IL. At age 3 the family moved to Odin, IL where she attended grades 1 through 12 at the Odin Public School, graduating as salutatorian of her class. At age 9, Nancee was baptized in the Odin First Christian Church. At age 14 she taught 5- and 6-year-olds in Sunday School. Nancee was always an avid singer and loved to sing in the church choir. She loved children and began babysitting at age 12. She also worked part time, while attending High School, for the privately owned Bell Telephone Co. in Odin, IL. She worked there full time after graduation in Sandoval, IL. Nancee was married to Alfred W. Butler, Sr. (deceased). Then to Eugene “Gene” Fleming, Jr (also deceased). A former Member of Westover Baptist Church, she served as teacher for babies and children, served on the hospitality committee, was church clerk, choir director, a deacon, and a trustee. Presently Nancee is a member of the Manassas Baptist Church, was active in the choir, in Bible study and Sunday School. Nancee was predeceased by her parents Quentin A. and Chloe Deadmond Williams and 1 brother, James E. Williams. Survivors include 1 sister Norma Stein Pharris (Dennis) of Springfield, IL, 2 brothers – Richard E. Williams (Kathleen) of Camden, DE and Quentin A. Williams, Jr (Betty) of Collinsville, IL Nancee is also survived by 3 children: Alfred Wesley Butler, II (Brenda) of Leesburg, VA, Nancee Dianne Nelson (Gary-deceased) of Catlett, VA, and Amy Louise Butler of Manassas, VA. She was blessed with 6 grandchildren – Tiffany McCann (Nathan) of Santa Cruz, CA, Thomas Butler (Jennifer) of Ashburn VA, Adam Nelson (Katlyn) of Culpeper, VA, Matthew Nelson (Megan), Jeffersonton, VA, Natalie Diaz-Kincaid (Elias) of San Diego, CA, Kelsey Southard (Daniel) of Gainesville, VA. Her Greatgrandchildren include Grayson and Elyse Diaz-Kincaid, Analeigh and Jack Butler, Jackson and Trevor Nelson, Raleigh Nelson, Cecelia and Lincoln Southard. Eph. 5 Follow god’s example in everything you do just as a much loved child imitates his father. 2 Be full of love for others, following the example of Christ who loved you and gave himself to God as a sacrifice to take away your sins. And God was pleased, for Christ’s love for you was like sweet perfume to him (ICB) A service will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Manassas Baptist Church, 8800 Sudley Rd. Manassas, VA 20110, officiated by Pastor David Donahue, followed by a time of fellowship. A private interment at Quantico National Cemetery will occur at a later date.
