Nancy Miller Bancroft Kulas

It is with both heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Nancy Miller Bancroft Kulas, age 89, a cherished lifelong resident of South Glastonbury, CT, who passed into eternity on December 1, 2025, in Manassas, VA. Nancy, a proud graduate of Douglas College (Rutgers University), earned her BS in Nutrition and Dietetics in 1958. Shortly thereafter, she tied the knot with her beloved husband and high school sweetheart, Robert Kulas, on October 11—a day that marked the start of a beautiful journey together filled with love, commitment, and family devotion. Nancy cherished nothing more than being together as a family. As a consulting dietitian, Nancy dedicated over 50 years to nursing homes across central CT. She had a remarkable gift for making healthy eating delightful, often sprinkling in humor to honor the humanity of those she touched. An avid gardener, Nancy had a way of coaxing life from the earth like a modern-day Mother Nature. Her yard was a vibrant oasis, where neighbors often remarked that it was a veritable city park. Her love for gardening extended to the Glastonbury Garden Society and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, where she could be found watering plants or sharing gardening tips. Nancy’s commitment didn’t stop there; as the District Commissioner of the Glastonbury Pony Club, she oversaw countless mounted and unmounted horse activities for young riders, not the least of which were her two daughters. Her adventures also took her around the globe, as she proudly traveled the states and many foreign lands—collecting stories, which she enthusiastically shared with her children and grandchildren! Surrounded by love, she remains in the hearts of her family, including her sister Jean Shibley, daughters Barb Donaldson and Laurie Kronenberg (David), and her treasured grandchildren: Chelsea, Myla, Haley, Matthew Donaldson, as well as Caitlin and Derek Kronenberg. They will forever cherish her wisdom, her kindness, and the way she could make even the smallest moments feel like grand celebrations. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, December 29, 2025 at St Luke's Episcopal Church, 915 Main Street South Glastonbury, CT 06073 to honor this extraordinary woman who brightened the lives of so many.
