Nuestro amado padre, hermano, hijo y esposo, Miguel Guillén, de 49 años, se fue con Dios en la madrugada del Sábado 13 de Febrero de 2021. Miguel nació el 18 de Febrero de 1971 en Chalatenango, El Salvador. A una edad temprana, Miguel hizo un viaje muy valiente por una nueva vida en los Estados Unidos. Miguel es precedido en la muerte por su padre Carlos Guillén. Le sobreviven sus cuatro hijos, Luis Guillen, Jeanne Guillen, Madeline Guillen y Amy Guillen; su esposa Carolina Villatoro; su madre Consuelo Menjivar; y sus 10 hermanos y hermanas. Buscando una vida mejor para su familia, Miguel viajó a un país extranjero. Un país donde no entendía la cultura ni el idioma. Sin dejar que obstáculos tan pronunciados lo detuvieran, construyó una profesión significativa y crió a cuatro hijos maravillosos. A pesar de tener dos trabajos y trabajar innumerables fines de semana, siempre pudo encontrar tiempo para sus hijos y las pasiones de su vida. Disfrutaba del paciente arte de la pesca, el deporte competitivo del fútbol, la pasión creativa de las artes culinarias y el gratificante trabajo de ser padre. El siempre preparó una comida que se hizo sentir como en casa, animó a su equipo favorito con una pasión increíble, esperó largas noches para pescar junto al mar sabiendo que algunas cosas están fuera de nuestro control y siempre hizo que sus hijos se sintieran comprendidos. Miguel pasó 30 años como chef en Westfield Marriot. Se abrió camino desde un empleado de nivel de entrada hasta un miembro excepcional de la cocina del salón de banquetes. Tocó muchas vidas de compañeros de trabajo y clientes. Su familia de trabajo lo recuerda como un compañero de equipo cariñoso que trabajó duro y jugó duro. Our loving father, brother, son and husband, Miguel Guillen, age 49, passed away in the early hours of Saturday, February 13, 2021. Miguel was born February 18, 1971 in Chalatenango, El Salvador. At a young age Miguel made the selfless and courageous trek for a new life in the United States. Miguel is preceded in death by his father Carlos Guillen. He is survived by his four children, Luis Guillen, Jeanne Guillen, Madeline Guillen, and Amy Guillen; his wife Carolina Villatoro; his mother Consuelo Menjivar; and his 10 brothers and sisters. Chasing a better life for his family, Miguel journeyed to a foreign country. A country where he didn’t understand the culture or the language. Not letting such steep obstacles hold him back, he built a meaningful profession and raised four wonderful children. Despite working two jobs and countless weekends, he was always able to find time for his children and the passions in his life. He enjoyed the patient art of fishing, the competitive sport of soccer, the creative passion of culinary arts and the fulfilling job of fatherhood. He cooked you a meal that made you feel at home, cheered his favorite team with amazing passion, waited long nights for a catch by the sea knowing some things are out of our control and always made his children feel understood. Miguel spent 30 years as a chef at Westfield Marriot. He worked his way up from an entry level employee to a leading member of the banquet hall kitchen. He touched the many lives of coworkers and customers. His work family remembers him as a loving teammate who worked hard and played hard. There will be a private viewing with virtual attendance.
