Michael Raymond Sukeena III

Michael Raymond Sukeena III, age 48, of Warrenton, VA passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the Fauquier Hospital. Mike was born on January 3, 1970 in Washington, DC the son of Michael and Rosalie (Bedway) Sukeena, Jr. Mike attended West Virginia University, playing both soccer and kicking for the WVU football team during his time there. After graduating in 1993, Mike was a kicking coach at Mark Moseley’s kicking camp during the summer. In 1994 Mike signed on to the Albany Firebirds with the Arena Football League as a kicker in New York, NY. After hanging up his cleats, Mike began his career in law enforcement. He served as a police officer in Prince William County, then joined the City of Manassas Police Department where he was a member of the SWAT Team and a Vice Narcotics Detective. Mike transitioned to the corporate world where he served as the President of IMSL. Mike also supported a detail with Command Consulting in Washington, D.C. providing risk management and security. In his free time, Mike enjoyed working with Golden Seal Enterprises as a firearms instructor. Mike dedicated his life to volunteering and mentoring our youth. He was the head coach of the Fauquier Youth Football 11U Cougars as well as an assistant baseball coach for the Greater Fauquier Baseball Little League. He was also member of the Northern Virginia Trail Riders. Mike never met a stranger. He valued his family and friends and always made it a point to let them know in many different ways. Anyone that knew Mike knew his zest for life and his ability to live and enjoy life to the fullest. He was and always will be remembered as the biggest West Virginia Mountaineers fan you could ever meet. From riding his dirt bike to taking his Harley out, Mike had a fearless way about him. He had a passion for firearms, traveling, his bigger than life monster truck and loved his many adventures, including sky diving, scuba diving, his boat and the RV he recently purchased. The times he spent at the lake were what he often referred to as the “best times of his life.” Mike was a selfless person who would do anything for anyone at a moment’s notice. His contagious smile and huge hugs were the reason so many people were drawn to him. He welcomed everyone into his life and home, while making it a point to make each person feel special to him. His legacy will live on through his children and his deepest love for them. He was the best son, husband, father, brother, friend and coach. His friends and family were his life. Survivors include his loving wife, Lisa Sukeena; two children, MacKenzie Heflin and Michael Sukeena IV; his parents, Michael and Rosalie Sukeena, Jr. of Manassas, VA.; one brother, Christopher Sukeena, his wife Rachel of Mooresville, NC, his niece Riley and two nephews Ryan and Jack; along with a large extended family. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00pm Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Chapel Springs Assembly of God, 11500 New Life Way, Bristow, VA. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens.
