Mary Frances Garner

Mary Frances Garner, age 85 of Manassas, VA died on May 12, 2023. She was born on October 26, 1937 in Fairfax, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald E. Garner; her parent Edgar and Olive Garrison; brothers Lloyd, Edgar, Earl, Charlie and Ashby and by her sisters Mildred, Helen, Annie, Ella, Ollie and Alice. She is survived by her sisters Doris and Joyce; her children Donald L. Garner and wife Marilyn, Gary E. Garner and girlfriend Melissa and Wanda F. Chamberlain and husband Jason; her grandchildren Kristen L. Carrino and Mandy L. Hardy and husband Jon and her great grandchildren Sarah L. Hardy, Jacob C. Hardy and Ryan E. Hardy and my numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mary was a very kind, giving and loving lady who always loved her family more than life. She was always making sure everyone had everything they needed and wanted. She loved to cook and bake and always wanted to feed you when you came to visit. Her banana pudding was like no other. She made a fresh apple cake with butterscotch chips on top that everyone always reminded her that she needed to make and sell. Mary had a heart of gold and was always ready to help others in any way possible. She always had a way of making things better just with her smile when you were feeling down in any way. She was just a beautiful soul all around and will be missed by so many. Mary worked in management in many retail stores including Fashion Bug, G.C. Murphy and was manager of the men’s department at Peebles department store for numerous years. Her last job was at Manassas Dodge as bookkeeper before retiring to stay at home with her family. Mary loved crafts, making wreaths, little mice out of Pepsi bottles, stuffed bunny rabbits and many more fun items. She loved working in her yard, whether it was tending to her flowers and garden or mowing the grass. Mary loved country music and going out dancing. Although most people don’t know what clogging is, she was the queen of the clog. She never turned down a night of music and dancing. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 6-8 PM at Pierce Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA where services will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 12:30 PM. Interment to follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens.
