Martin Huntington

Martin Edward Huntington, age 61 suddenly passed away at home on December 24, 2010 in Manassas, Virginia. He was born on August 7, 1949 in Alexandria, VA and resided most of his life in Manassas, VA. Martin was one of six children born to the late Thorton and Lillie(Nowlin) Huntington. He is also preceded in death by a brother Wayne Huntington. Martin is survived and will forever be remembered by his loving wife of 42 years, Viola Victoria Huntington of Manassas, VA; and his three devoted children: Michael Ray Huntington and his fianc'e Lisa Stuart of Lorton, VA, Ronald Edward Huntington and his wife Heather of Manassas, VA and April Lynn Campbell of Manassas, VA; two sisters: Betty Mathers of Blaine, WA and Susan Overzat and her husband Jim of Boca Raton, Florida; two brothers: William Huntington and wife Joan of Manassas, VA and Ricky Huntington of Manassas, VA and six grandchildren: Dylon Michael, Brittany Lynn, Noah James, Paige Nicole, Zackary Thomas and Brooke Taylor along with countless friends and family who were blessed to know him. Martin was in the service from 1965 - 1969 and was a proud Vietnam Marine Corp Veteran. During his time in the Vietnam War he was wounded 27 times and carried shrapnel fragments from his wounds throughout his lifetime. He was awarded a Purple Heart Medal for his services. Uncle Buddy, as he was known, was a jack of all trades, mastering most of them. He enjoyed collecting Civil War Memorabilia, hunting and 4 wheeling. He loved spending time with family and friends and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Martin believed in old fashioned values and always made sure his family was taken care of. Buddy touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 3, 2011 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, Virginia where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Robert Yarborough officiating. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA with military honors.
