Mark Joseph Pado

Mark Joseph Pado, 56, of Purcellville, Virginia, passed away suddenly and peacefully at his home on March 8, 2025. He was born January 15,1969 in The Hague, Netherlands to the late Joseph C. Pado and Melinda (McIntosh) Pado. Mark lived abroad with his U.S. Foreign Service family in The Hague, Netherlands; Kathmandu, Nepal; Pointe Claire, Quebec, Canada; and Rome, Italy, before settling in Vienna, Virginia in 1978. He became a natural born traveler, loving and touching history as well as seeing it. He graduated from James Madison High School in Vienna in 1987 where he was a member of the football team. Following graduation, he spent two years studying at NOVA Community College and Virginia Wesleyan University. Mark worked at several jobs, before finding his interest was to be an electrician, first in residential work and for over 30 years in commercial work, primarily at Dulles Airport. Not only did he love the work, he loved mentoring young men who were just entering the trade and helping them to secure and understand the work in which they would become proud. His co-workers became not only colleagues, but life friends. Mark was a quiet, observant person, well-read and never suffered fools lightly. He had a dry sense of humor with which he blessed those around him. He loved music, especially The Grateful Dead and Bob Dylan, and relaxed by singing while playing his guitar. He was a connoisseur of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and kept his family aware of all flavors. Mark loved going to concerts with his brother and spending Sundays during football season with his Mom, rooting for the Commanders. Throughout the years, Mark spent many Saturdays breaking bread over lunch with his co-workers where bonds were forged and life lived. Mark loved and was devoted to his Mom, sister and brother. He adored his niece and nephews who in turn called him their big Teddy Bear. He treasured his friends. Mark was predeceased by his wife, Bari Lynne (Williams) Pado, and his father, Joseph C. Pado. Survivors include his devoted dog, Martin, his mother, Melinda (McIntosh) Pado of Haymarket, VA; his sister, Darlene Gail Pado, of Seattle WA; his brother Darren Edwin Pado and wife, Catherine (Beville) Pado of Haymarket VA; his niece, Langley Grace Pado, and his nephews Blagen Maclean Pado, Keegan Christopher Pado, and Gannon Alexander Pado.; his uncle and aunt, Brian Edwin McIntosh and Katherine Fleming of Olympia WA; and many cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes contributions be made to your favorite charity. His Family plans for a Celebration of His Life on Saturday April 12, 2025 from 2-5 at the home of his mother, 15210 Fog Mountain Circle, Haymarket, Virginia.
