Loretta Scocco

Loretta Yvette Scocco, the second of four children, was born on March 15, 1969 in Cherry Point, North Carolina to Ronald Corbin, Sr. and Janet Gray-Corbin. On Monday, April 22, 2013, God called his beloved angel Loretta home. Loretta attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Triangle, Va. from childhood until she got married and moved out of the area. Loretta graduated from Potomac Sr. High School in 1986, and was a graduate of Northern Virginia Community College. Loretta was married to John F. Scocco on October 19, 1995 and from this union one child, a son, Daniel J. Scocco was born. Loretta treasured her family, especially her son Daniel. Loretta and her niece Nikeka, whom Nikeka affectionately referred to as "LaLa" were also very close. Her husband John, to whom she was married to for 18 years, was the love of her life. They enjoyed travelling as a family to different places, and enjoyed their time spent as a family. Loretta lovingly and proudly watched Daniel grow from a little baby to the handsome, very intelligent teenager he is today. She also watched her niece Nikeka grow up into the fine young lady she is today. Loretta was also very close to her mother and to her sister LaNieta. The love that Loretta and John shared has continued to strengthen and grow over the years, and they truly loved, cherished and admired each other. Even with the stress of raising a child who seems to have an endless amount of energy, John and Loretta still made time for each other. When she was able to steal a couple of moments to herself, she enjoyed reading and watching TV, and she was a big fan of the Star Wars movies, and had an entire room in their home dedicated to the Star Wars empire. Loretta had a quiet, gentle sprit that touched all of her family and friends. Loretta leaves behind to cherish her memory and her sprit her husband, John F. Scocco, her son, Daniel J. Scocco, her mother, Janet L. Gray-Corbin, her father, Ronald D. Corbin, Sr., her brother, Ronald D. Corbin, Jr., her brother, Donovan G. Corbin, her sister LaNieta R. Corbin, her niece Nikeka R.Jackson, her nephew, Dammian L. Sayles, her niece, Yvonne S. Corbin, her nephew, Miles A. Corbin, her aunt, Elizabeth C. Utley(Walter), and a host of great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
