Linda Lee Bushrod

Linda Lee Bushrod, 69, loving daughter, wife, mother, Nana, Campground Nana, sister, aunt and cousin, departed this life on Monday, September 4th, 2023, at UVA Medical Center in Haymarket, VA. She was born in Winchester, VA on February 25th, 1954, to the late Marjorie (Duncan) Cockrill and Thomas Cockrill. She was united in Holy Matrimony November 13th, 1972, to Micah Rollins Bushrod, Sr., who proceeded her in death. From this union, two children were born – Micah Rollins Bushrod, Jr. and Whinoa Michelle (Bushrod) Cupp. Upon graduation from Stonewall Jackson High School, Linda went on to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Fairfax County Extension Office, and then stayed home to care for her children. Once they graduated, she went on to work for CorVel Corporation and Reagan Middle School. She enjoyed going to the Wilderness Presidential Campground Resort (just about every weekend) and spending time with family including all of the kids that called her “Mom” or “Nana.” Linda was known for sharing vegetables from her garden. She enjoyed cooking at home. Linda, along with her husband, Micah, was always happy to host and assist family and friends for special events or just family fun. Linda was an amazing seamstress, from making her own clothes, bridesmaid dresses, wedding dresses, quilts, and pillows. Linda was the best mom and friend anyone could ask for. Linda was always available for anything her family or friends needed. Linda is survived by her children: son, Micah Rollins Bushrod, Jr. and his wife, Nancy Bushrod of Haymarket, VA; daughter, Whinoa Michelle (Bushrod) Cupp and her husband, Jamie Cupp of Haymarket, VA; three grandsons - Andre Marquise Bushrod, Jeremiah Edgar Bushrod and Joshua Melvin Bushrod of Haymarket, VA; three sisters – Debra Orine (Cockrill) Edwards and her husband, Wesley Edwards of Bealeton, VA, Anita Sue (Cockrill) Vines of Haymarket, VA; Doris Ann (Cockrill) Millberry of Warrenton, VA; two brothers – George Thomas Cockrill, and his wife Marjorie Cockrill of Oak Hill, Va., Alvin Beatty Cockrill, and his wife Lisa Cockrill of North Topsail, NC. Linda is also survived by her loving husband’s family: Mother-in-law Mary (Washington) Bushrod of Haymarket, VA; siblings, Clarence Bushrod, Jr (Christine). of Haymarket, VA; Arthur Bushrod of Marshall, VA; Cheryl Purdy (Jessie) of Manassas, VA; and Sandra Thompson (Roosevelt) of Haymarket, VA. She is also survived by her campground family, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Linda is further survived by a special, loving nephew, Cody Vines, and the special loving mother of her grandchildren, Latisha Spinner.
