Larry Timothy Taylor

Larry Timothy Taylor, affectionately known as Dad to his children, “grand-daddy” to his granddaughters and everyone else as “LT” or “L-Boogie”. He was born on November 5, 1962, in Fairfax, Virginia to the late William Thomas Taylor and Alice Ann Taylor. He was the sixth child of their union and the eighth of eleven children overall. He was raised around an unwavering faith and love for God. Larry departed this life on Thursday, February 13, 2025. Larry attended Fairfax County Public Schools. During his high school years at James W. Robinson, he was dedicated to the sports of soccer and wrestling, where he left his undeniable strength on the mats. As he grew older, he took on a very hard-working job and caught on quickly learning his career in asphalt paving. Larry held several long-term positions throughout his career with Mount Vernon Asphalt and Paving, ASAP Paving, Capital Paving, Tibbs Paving, Resurface Inc. and Diamonds Managment Group, where he quickly became a leader to teach others this skill. Larry was a devoted and loving husband to his soulmate Linda, while celebrating 39 years of marriage together prior to his death. He always enjoyed a good joke and memories with his daughters, Erica and Candice. He leaves his most precious memories with his granddaughters, Jaelle and Emerie. Larry was the happiest when traveling to their soccer games, giving them pep talks and showing them how to work on cars, they brought the twinkle back into Larry’s eyes even after the unexpected illness. Larry was very opinionated, never turned down a plate of food, and would always offer a helping hand to those in need. In his free time, Larry enjoyed Sunday dinners with his family, cheering on the Washington Commanders, listening to music, attending family gatherings, and spending time at the racetrack with his racecar the “Rivetted”. Larry’s jokes and a sense of humor were unmatched. He leaves to cherish his memories: His wife Linda Taylor, two daughters Candice and Erica Sharpless, two granddaughters Jaelle & Emerie Mason, his two sisters Wanda M. Betts, Beatrice “Cam” McCollum, his three brothers, William G. Taylor (Theresa), Michael “Ron” Taylor, Greg J Taylor (Desiree), God brother Dwight Robinson, his Goddaughter Taylor Cross, and host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his mother Alice Ann Taylor and Father William Taylor; brothers William Thomas Taylor II, Calvin Taylor; sisters Barbara A Taylor, Debra M. Rose, and Theresa L. Moore; nieces Tonia M. Rose and Elaine “Tinnika” Taylor; nephew Bryan Rose; and great niece Diamond Rose.
